BRODY JENNER HAS BIRTHDAY SURGERY

Instead of indulging in cake and ice cream for his birthday on Friday, Hills actor Brody Jenner was served up less-tastier hospital fare.

"Brody Jenner unfortunately spent the morning of his 26th birthday having his appendix removed," his rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The son of Olympian athlete Bruce Jenner and songwriter Linda Thompson is doing well post-surgery, says the rep. "He is resting with family and friends and expected to have a speedy recovery."
