SELENA GOMEZ: 'I'M GOING TO BE IN A BAND'

She may get buzz as "the next Miley," but Selena Gomez doesn't want to be a one-girl show.
"I'm going to be in a band – no Selena Gomez stuff," the Wizards of Waverly Place star, 16, told MTV News. "I'm not going to be a solo artist."
"I think that I don't want my name attached to it," she explained. Gomez says her album will have a "pop/rock" feel, and she plans to play a few instruments as well.
"I'll be singing, and I'm learning drums and playing electric guitar," she said.
Gomez also promises a different sound than her Disney peers – and not just for artistic reasons.
"You know, the [Jonas] boys and people like Demi [Lovato] are my friends, so I definitely would not copy or do anything that they did," she said.
As for Gomez's relationship with Nick Jonas, the pair recently went for some platonic PDA: They gave each other a big hug at the Teen Choice Awards on Tuesday night.
