DAD-TO-BE PETE WENTZ SERENADES BABY Blog
Pete Wentz is already facing his first daddy dilemma. As a Chicagoan, will his baby with wife Ashlee Simpson root for the Cubs or the White Sox?
"If my dad has anything to say about it, I'm sure he will be a Cubs fan." the Windy City native told PEOPLE Sunday at the Nike + Human Race at Soldier Field in Chicago. "If my friends have anything to say about it, it will probably be a Sox fan. So, knowing me, it will probably come out a mathematician."
The Fall Out Boy bassist has definitely been studious in his fact-finding mission about fatherhood. Besides reading books including The Expectant Father, Wentz, 29, said one famous friend in particular has been a wealth of information.
"Joel [Madden] gives me advice," Wentz said of the Good Charlotte rocker, who's dad to 7-month-old daughter Harlow with girlfriend Nicole Richie. "[It's] been really awesome for me to go to another person my age." During Fall Out Boy's performance at the Nike + Human Race, Simpson – wearing a black blouse and purple pants – hung out backstage with friends. While the band played their cover of Michael Jackson's "Beat It," she started dancing with her arms around her belly.
So, could the song end up on Simpson's labor playlist? "That's probably going to be all up to Ashlee – what she picks," Wentz said. "I couldn't be like, 'Oh, you're going through labor, here's the music I want you to listen to.' So, it's whatever she picks."
That may include his own vocals. Wentz said he sings to the baby "late at night .... Baby's gotten a couple lullabies."
In a recent posting on Simpson's blog, she joked that while she's pregnant, her "closet full of size 0's are being worn by Pete right now and he looks hot in them."

ASHLEE SIMPSON: "I AM RIGHT ON TARGET WITH MY WEIGHT GAIN" Blog
Ashlee Simpson loves her growing bump!
"Today I read on a blog that I went to the doctor and he said I was overweight and I cried and went to Planet Blue (because I was blue) and bought 6 pair of size 0 jeans," Simpson 23, wrote on her MySpace page. "My doctor says I am right on target with my weight gain, have not been to Planet Blue in at least two years, love my maternity jeans... they have stretchy tops it is awesome!"
See who else is pregnant this summer.
The singer joked "My closet full of size 0's are being worn by [husband Pete Wentz] right now and he looks hot in the them:)."
Simpson and Wentz wed in Los Angeles on May 17
"Carrying a child is the most inspiring, emotional, amazing experience of my life," Simpson blogged. "My weight and my pant size are the absolute last thing I am concerned about. I am only concerned with having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. People who talk and judge pregnant women’s weight need to get a life!!!
So what's the mom-to-be- craving these days?
"Green olives and pickles!" Wentz, 29, has revealed "Green olives on everything!"
He called her cravings an "anytime kind-of-thing. You always have to be ready."
See the foods other pregnant stars have craved.

RYAN CABRERA: ASHLEE WILL BE A 'GREAT MOM' Blog
Ryan Cabrera rarely sees his former flame Ashlee Simpson these days, but he saw enough in their relationship that he doesn't doubt her parenting ability.
"She'll be a great mom," the singer told PEOPLE Friday at the opening of Yellowtail Sushi Restaurant in Las Vegas.
Cabrera, who dated Simpson in 2004 and was reportedly the subject of her song "Pieces of Me", said, "She's just a good person and she's dedicated to her family."
Recently Simpson, 23, said she and husband Pete Wentz, 29, have been busy baby-proofing the house and getting a nursery together. None of this surprises Cabrera about the couple.
"It's a good family. It will be a good home."
Simpson told ET Canada in a recent interview that she's been doing some songwriting, but has no plans to return to the studio until after her little bundle is born.
"The baby is my main focus right now," she said. "We're both so excited. I mean, this is definitely the happiest moment in my life."

PETE WENTZ ROCKS THE VOTE – & VOTES FOR BRITNEY Blog
In Denver at the Democratic National Convention, Fall Out Boy band members are doing double duty: announcing the Nov. 4 release of their third Island album, Folie á Deux, and playing to a sold-out house Monday for Rock the Vote – aimed at getting youth involved in the political process.
Talking backstage to PEOPLE before their concert, bassist Pete Wentz and singer-guitarist Patrick Stump say they don't want to preach from the stage, although Stump admits this is a "political record, but it's never going to say outright 'Vote for Obama.' "
In terms of their own leanings, Wentz, 29, says they are all "liberal democrats from the suburbs of Chicago," adding that his parents met when they were both working on a Joe Biden campaign.
Then, apparently trying to appear non-partisan, he says in the next breath, "I'm definitely not against voting for a Republican."
The two musicians were a bit more forthright on their choice in the VMA race, specifically why they voted for Britney Spears's video in the MTV competition, to be held Sept. 7.
Supports Britney SpearsWentz was there when Spears made a promo for the awards show. "I got to meet the elephant [in the video]," he says. "It was awesome. Britney really proves how much the fans really matter, because the fans really want to see Britney win and turn it around."
Even though the Fall Out Boys plan to attend the VMAs and have won in the past (and even hope to win again), they actually voted for videos oter than their own. "To be honest, I don't think this is the Fall Out Boys's year," says Wentz.
And while he didn't want to talk about the impending birth of a child with his wife, Ashlee Simpson, Wentz did admit he wants to live somewhere outside of Los Angeles, "because L.A. has become pretty boring to me."
Ultimately he says, the Wentzes want to end up in Chicago. "But," Pete insists, "we don't have plans tomorrow."

ASHLEE SIMPSON: GETTING READY FOR BABY Blog
With her budding belly growing each day, Ashlee Simpson gushed to ET Canada about baby prep and marital bliss.
The singer, who confirmed the pregnancy back in May, says she and husband Pete Wentz have been knee-deep in baby-proofing their Hollywood home.
"We're getting the nursery ready," said Simpson. "I can't wait to be a mom and he can't wait to be a dad, so it's fun."
"I have the greatest husband," she said. "He's so awesome It's fun to have somebody that I love to do this with."Having her family around has been comforting too. "My mom and my grandmother [have] given me good motherly advice," said Simpson, "but it's one of those things where your mother instincts kind of kick in right away."
Other things on their to-do list? Picking a baby name. But Simpson says they haven't settled on one yet.
After joking about calling their kid "Orange," Simpson said, "I don't think it's something we'll decide until the baby comes."
She's also been writing a few new tunes, but won't jump back into the studio until her little bundle is born.
"The baby is my main focus right now," she says. "We're both so excited. I mean, this is definitely the happiest moment in my life."

EXPECTANT DAD PETE WENTZ IS READING UP ON FATHERHOOD Blog
Having already admitted that he's turning into his own father in anticipation of the arrival of his and wife Ashlee Simpson's baby, Pete Wentz tells PEOPLE that when it comes to prepping to become a parent, "I'm reading a lot of books."
The Fall Out Boy bassist, 28, at his Angels & King nightspot in Chicago with Ashlee nearby, explains, "The biggest one is The Expectant Father. It's a really good one."
Not that the printed page is teaching him all he needs to know. Jokingly, he adds, "Also, I've watched Look Who's Talking and Look Who's Talking Too. I'd be worried if the baby sounded like Bruce Willis." As for wise words from his father, Wentz says, "The best advice my dad has given me was, go with your gut. And he said you can't really have expectations. If I have expectations that he's going to be a rock star, I'm sure he'll come out being into sports, and if I have expectations that he'll be into sports then he'll be into math or something."
Having digested that, Wentz says, "I'm just going into taking it one step at a time, and I'm just excited to meet the baby."
In terms of further preparations, "We'll baby-proof the house," he says, "getting the nursery ready." Regarding its theme, "It's not a secret, but it's more of a private thing. I haven't really figured it out yet, so I don't want to go out there and say what it is and then have it not be that."
Nor, when asked if the nursery is pink, will he divulge a color scheme. "Contrary to the stories out there, we don't know the sex of the baby," he says. "I'm a person that always likes to be surprised, so I like to wait for the surprise."
In the meantime, he says, "Ashlee's a trouper. She's been really good with this. She's probably one of the most health conscious, spiritually free pregnant women I've even been around."

LINDSAY AND SAMANTHA 'VERY AFFECTIONATE' IN CHICAGO Blog
Lindsay Lohan and girlfriend Samantha Ronson didn't hide their affection as they spent the weekend rocking out in Chicago.
The couple was in town for Lollapalooza, Chicago's annual three-day music festival, which also drew Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson to town.
Lohan and Ronson showed up Friday night at the MOTOROKR Lounge at the Underground to support Samantha's brother Mark Ronson, who was deejaying. The duo hung out with Danny Masterson and singer Kenna before settling into a table for the night. "They were holding hands and very affectionate with each other," says an onlooker. The next night, they joined Mark and his girlfriend at China Grill Chicago for Diesel's Rock The Vote Private Dinner. "They were very comfortable, very touchy-feeling," says a source, who added that Lindsay looked "great." "They were holding hands the entire night. They weren't hiding anything."
While feasting on drunken chicken and veggie fried rice, the ladies took frequent cigarette breaks and greeted fans as they smoked outside. "They were very gracious," the source said. "They signed autographs and took pictures with kids."
By the end of the night, the source said, one thing was clear: "They're in love. This is a no-joke deal."
After dinner, the group headed to The Music Lounge at the Hard Rock Café. While Mark deejayed, the girls texted back and forth and finally danced onstage to the last song.
The pair spent the previous week getting cozy in New York before flying to Los Angeles on Wednesday.
