Jay-Z sure knows how to pick the bling!
All eyes were on Beyoncé Friday night, when, for the first time, the singer publicly displayed her engagement ring on the red carpet for Fashion Rocks at Radio City Music Hall in N.Y.C.
The singer, 27, who secretly married rapper Jay-Z in April, flashed an 18 carat flawless diamond by Lorraine Schwartz, valued at more than $5 million dollars, according to the jeweler.
Neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z have publicly confirmed their marriage but in recent weeks, Beyoncé’s younger sister Solange referred to Jay-Z as her brother-in-law during a television interview.Later in the evening, Beyoncé took off the ring for a performance where she donned a short, blonde wig in tribute to blues singer Etta James whom she portrays in an upcoming movie.
The star-studded event included appearances by Miley Cyrus, Rihanna, Mary J. Blige, Tommy Hilfiger, Hayden Panettiere, Paula Abdul, Fergie, Ciara, Natasha Bedingfield, Chris Brown, Terrance Howard, Justin Timberlake and Chace Crawford.

| JONAS BROTHERS GET READY FOR THEIR OWN NEW TV SERIES Blog |
After the success of their TV movie Camp Rock, the Jonas Brothers are now prepping for their own Disney Channel original series.
"It's going to be about us as a band but dealing with normal things like trying to take out the trash and not get hounded by fans," Joe Jonas tells ELLEgirl magazine about the as-yet untitled series. "It's going to be a funny show, and it's going to be a great cast."
The show – originally about the boy band living a double life as spies – has recently undergone a conceptual change. The trio, who just released their third studio album, A Little Bit Longer, told Ryan Seacrest on his KISS-FM radio show that the series will now be more like HBO's Flight of the Conchords. Production is on hold until the boys finish their tour, but "we start filming mid-September," said Joe, 19. "The writers are working on it as we speak, so we should be seeing scripts any day. I'm really excited."
Biking with BrothersIt's more than just the show that is waiting for Joe at home in L.A. The middle Jonas, who recently received a motorcycle with a sidecar as a birthday gift, can't wait to get back and start taking his brothers for a ride.
"The sidecar's in Los Angeles," he said. "When we start filming our television show, we will be setting up the sidecar."
As for their Video Music Award nomination for video of the year, "[This] is huge for us," said Kevin, 20. "We can't believe it."
The VMAs, airing Sunday on MTV, pit the Jonases against Britney Spears, Chris Brown, the Ting Tings and Pussycat Dolls.

Michael Jackson says he's "having a wonderful time, just relaxing" as he celebrates his 50th birthday Friday.
"I feel very wise and sage, but at the same time very young," he said in a phone interview with ABC's Good Morning America Friday.
How will the King of Pop spend his birthday?
"Just have a little cake with my children and we'll probably watch some cartoons," he revealed.

The singer -- who has two children, Paris Katherine, 9, and Prince Michael II, 5 -- told GMA that he would like to release another album soon.
"I am writing all the time," he said. "I love composing and the whole thing. But I am also raising my children and enjoying it and teaching them to ride bicycles and how to read. I love it.
"I get pretty emotional when I see them having a wonderful time," he added. "When they are on a ride and they are screaming and they are happy... It makes me emotional, 'cause I see they are having a real good time."
Jackson, born in Gary, Indiana, found fame in the late '60s with his brothers as part of the Jackson 5 pop group and later as a solo artist in the '70s, '80s and '90s. His 1980 album Thriller is the best-selling LP in history and he's won 13 Grammy Awards.
Jackson said he can still do his famous dance moves -- and "more" -- and singled out Chris Brown for following in his footsteps.
He also said he hasn't received his AARP card yet -- "Not that I know of!" he joked. "You never know. They can find you wherever you are."

It's still a week early for the MTV Video Music Awards. But Britney Spears, who is up for three awards – including top honors – has a supporter in the form of hip-hop heavyweight Pharrell Williams.
"She's made her mark with her career," Williams told PEOPLE at Wednesday's Pepsi 500 Running Wide Open party in Hollywood, which he co-hosted. "She's super-talented. She's an entertainer."
Williams, 35, collaborated with Spears on her hits "I'm a Slave 4 U" and "Boys."
"It was cool, it was fun," said Williams, who is currently working on new music with Common and Fall Out Boy.Besides video of the year, Spears's nominations include best pop video and best female video. She has never won a MTV Video Music Award, despite 16 nominations in her career.
While Williams is rooting for Spears, her musical success does not hinge on success at the awards show, he says.
"I'm not sure [if she will win]," Williams said. "I don't even know if it really matters whether she wins or not."
Spears's live MTV VMA performance of "Gimme More" last year was a notorious disaster. This year, Spears has appeared in taped VMA commercial segments with host Russell Brand, but is not scheduled to perform.
She competes with the Jonas Brothers, Chris Brown, the Pussycat Dolls and the Ting Tings, for video of the year.

| JONAS BROTHERS 'FREAKING OUT!' OVER MEETING DEREK JETER Blog |
Before gearing up for the kick off of their tour Monday, the Jonas Brothers took a little time out to visit Yankee Stadium and meet some of their favorite major league players over the weekend.
"We're freaking out!" gushed Joe Jonas to Buzznet.com. "We're like, inches away from Derek Jeter." Diehard baseball fans for their "whole life," says Joe, they also shook hands with infielder favorite Robinson Cano.
Oh how the perks of their gig just keep on getting better! With their album climbing the charts, Joe says the "feel good" record is just about being, "really positive and up beat because we've gone through a great year. Everything has gone right for us." Up next for the guys? In addition to their 14-city tour, the brothers plan to perform at MTV's Video Music Awards on Sept. 7. Though Kevin insists they can't say which song they'll be singing at the VMAs, he assures "it will be our next single." And if they don't win video of the year, Kevin says they'd be happy to loose to either Chris Brown or Britney Spears. "Britney, she seems to be having a really great comeback," he adds.
If all this wasn't enough, the guys plan to round out the year shooting their new show. "At first it was about spies," says Joe. "But now it's been more constructed. It's just going to be called Jonas and is going to be us dealing with trying to take out the trash and not get hounded by fans. It's going to be a funny show."

Britney Spears may have had a tough time at last year's Video Music Awards, but she'll have a chance to redeem herself this year.
She is up for the show's top honor – video of the year – for "Piece of Me." The video was also nominated by the singer's fans for best pop video and best female video.
Other nominees in the category include the Jonas Brothers for "Burnin Up," Chris Brown's "Forever," the Pussycat Dolls' "When I Grow Up," and the Ting Tings' "Shut Up and Let Me Go."The nominees for best rock video were also announced: Fall Out Boys' "Beat It," Paramore's "Crush, Crush, Crush," Slipknot's "Psychosocial," Lincoln Park's "Shadow of the Day," and Foo Fighters' "The Pretender."
Should Spears win, this will be her first Moonman; the pop star has been nominated 16 times, but has never walked away with an award.
Since Spears filmed a promo for the awards with host Russell Brand, MTV has confirmed there is a possibility she will appear at the awards, in one way or another – but not whether she will perform. Last year, Spears delivered a universally panned performance of her song "Gimme More" at the VMAs.
The VMAs air live from Los Angeles on Sept. 7. on MTV.

• Lauren Conrad, hanging out with new guy pal Kyle Howard, at Teddy's inside the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The pair
made several trips outside to the patio, and the Hills star
draped herself all over the My Boys actor. The pair was inseparable, sharing pecks on
the lips and looking "so happy," according to an clubgoer. Though both
Conrad and Howard were with friends, the two were mostly interested in each
other. (Conrad only pulled out her BlackBerry once the entire
evening!)
• Rihanna, sporting sky high heels while shopping
with beau Chris Brown at a New York-area Louis Vuitton
store. The singer looked gorgeous, a fellow shopper tells us, and browsed
luggage sets while her boyfriend stood by.
• Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, fielding
huge bear hugs from an excited Hayden Panettiere at
Firefly, a restaurant in Studio City, Calif. The young Heroesstar arrived for dinner before the couple, and waited patiently at her table
for her group of friends to arrive.
• Kate Bosworth and model beau James Rousseau, sharing a romantic lunch at Shutters Hotel on the Beach in Santa Monica, where they munched on salad and pasta while enjoying the ocean view. Before the end of the meal, Rousseau picked up a small camera and started snapping pictures of Bosworth, who happily posed. Soon, though, Bosworth grabbed the camera and began snapping away. After paying the check, and wrapping their impromptu photo shoot, the lovebirds hit the beach – and spent an hour laying out and sharing a little PDA (think cheek-kissing and ear nibbling) in the sand.
• Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, taking in a mellow headlining set by Radiohead – and the amazing view of New York's skyline – at the All Points West Music & Arts Festival at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, N.J. The couple were among the celebrities who checked out the three-day rock festival, which included performances by Jack Johnson, Cat Power and Ben Harper. Mary-Kate Olsen and Liv Tyler rocked out at the outdoor fest, as did Gossip Girl star Jessica Szohr. And a black-clad Natasha Lyonne carried her dinner – a burger – to go through the VIP section as Radiohead prepared to take the stage.
• Luke Wilson, laughing and chatting over a late lunch with

A year after her rocky performance, Britney Spears is re-teaming with the MTV Video Music Awards.
The 26-year-old singer has shot a promo for the September 7 show with host Russell Brand.
The spot is "mostly ad-libbed, with Russell asking her for advice about hosting the show," a source tells E!. "There's also a 9,000-pound elephant in it, as in 'the elephant in the room.'"
Though it remains unlikely Spears will perform again this year, MTV president Van Toffler has said: "Everyone deserves a second or third chance ... who knows?"

In other VMA news, two more categories were announced Wednesday night at a taping of Pete Wentz's show FNMTV.
In the category of "Best New Artist," Miley Cyrus ("7 Things") will face off against Taylor Swift ("Teardrops on My Guitar"), Tokio Hotel ("Ready Set Go") and Katy Perry ("I Kissed A Girl").
Up for "Best Dancing in a Video": Ne-Yo ("Closer"), Danity Kane ("Damaged"), Pussycat Dolls ("When I Grow Up"), Chris Brown ("Forever") and Madonna ("Four Minutes").

| MILEY CYRUS IS FERGIE'S CHOICE AT TEEN AWARDS Blog |
Fergie turns out to be as big a Miley Cyrus fan as anybody – as the Black Eyed Peas singer demonstrated at Sunday's 10th annual Teen Choice Awards.
During the Hannah Montana star's opening number – Cyrus hosted the show, at Universal City's Gibson Amphitheatre – she performed her single "7 Things," running in every direction but stopping to deliver a rose to audience member Fergie.
And Fergie's reaction? Just like any other Hannah Montana fan's. She started jumping up and down. Cyrus had three reasons of her own to jump for joy, too – nabbing the prizes – which are surfboard trophies – for choice TV comedy, comic actress and female artist.
Top winner in the TV division was Gossip Girl, whose six awards included those for choice drama and breakout show – while its star, Chace Crawford was named choice breakout actor; Blake Lively, breakout female and TV drama actress; and Ed Westwick, who plays the antagonistic Chuck Bass, choice TV villain.
"I feel like I'm still a teenager, because I'm perpetually in high school," Crawford told reporters backstage. "And I'm 23."
The Jonas Brothers also won six awards: choice single, breakout group, love song, song of the summer, male red-carpet fashion icons and male hottie awards.
Introduced by The Office's Rainn Wilson, Kevin, Joe and Nick made continuous appearances during the ceremony, thanks to a segment called "Ask the Jonas Brothers," in which they answered questions sent in from fans on YouTube.
In the first, they are asked to describe the perfect date. Joe says it's riding in white horse on the beach to pick up his date, then going to Paris, "maybe" Barcelona, "maybe" see a movie.
As for other winners, three surfboards went to Will Smith (one for Hancock and two for I Am Legend); Chris Brown accepted five music awards, including best male artist; Hayden Panettiere was best TV action-adventure actress; and David Beckham won best male athlete.
Bring his three sons on to the stage with him, Becks thanked America for accepting him. After his father's speech, young Cruz Beckham suddenly broke into a break dance on stage as the crowd cheered him on.
The awards, which were selected by more 30 million votes cast online by teenagers, honor celebrities in TV, film, music, sports and fashion. The ceremony will air on FOX Monday night at 8 ET.

Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake and Mariah Carey are among the musical heavyweights expected to take the stage at the Sept. 5 concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall. Officially the beginning to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, the star-studded event will also feature celebrity presenters to be announced at a later date.
According to organizers, other scheduled performers include Rihanna, Fergie, Chris Brown, rapper Lil Wayne and Welsh soul singer Duffy.
The event, which will benefit Stand Up to Cancer, will also be recorded and broadcast on CBS on Sept. 9 (9 p.m. ET).
