"This is almost worth getting Parkinson's for!" Michael J. Fox declared as he took the stage to play guitar with The Who in New York City Wednesday night.
The actor – who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 1991 – rocked out to the legendary band's "Magic Bus," trading licks and windmill guitar riffs with Pete Townshend.
The once-in-a-lifetime performance was the grand finale of Fox's annual A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson's.Ryan Reynolds – who recently ran the New York City Marathon in honor of his father, who suffers from Parkinson's – also attended the star-studded event, along with his new wife Scarlett Johansson. Also on the guest list: Rachael Ray, Julianne Moore, and New York Yankee Derek Jeter.
The event was even more celebratory than usual, thanks to Barack Obama's presidential win the night before.
"I'm positive that one of the first things that [Obama] is going to do ... is revisit the [George W. Bush's] ban on stem cell research ...," Fox told PEOPLE at the event, which he attended along with wife Tracy Pollen and daughters, Schuyler and Aquinnah. "I'm really excited."

It may seem obvious to observers, but Derek Jeter still still refuses to admit that he's dating Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly.
In a new interview with Sports Illustrated's Extra Mustard Column, the New York Yankees shortstop laughs while rebuffing a reporter's inquiries about the rumored couple.
"You know I'm not going to tell you anything," he said when asked why he and Kelly were standing next to each other on the sidelines at a football game in Austin Oct. 18. "How many other people were at the stadium?" he continued, adding: "You're not going to get anything from me."Jeter, 34, and Kelly, 28, were also recently spotted cozying up together at a music club in Austin.
Not willing to give up, the S.I. reporter asks if Jeter is a fan of Friday Night Lights. Jeter replies, "Yeah, I watch it," and "It's a great show." But when asked who his favorite character is, he just laughs again.
Moving on, the reporter asked Jeter to promise all Yankees fans that he would not start studying Kabbalah (a la his teammate and reported Madonna paramour Alex Rodriguez), prompting more laughter: "Don't start with me about Kabbalah," says Jeter. "I went to Catholic school."

| DEREK JETER & MINKA KELLY ROMANCE HEATS UP IN TEXAS Blog |
With the Yankees out of the playoffs, Derek Jeter has some time on his hands and he's spending it romantically – with Minka Kelly.
The baseball star, 34, and the Friday Night Lights actress, 28, were spotted cozying up together in Austin, Texas, last Wednesday at the live music club, Momo's, to listen to soul singer Dan Dyer.
The twosome looked "together and happy," says one onlooker.
Jeter and Kelly, who's in town filming the third season of Friday Night Lights, also attended the University of Texas football game Saturday night, cheering from the sidelines with baseball vet Roger Clemens.
This isn't the first time the new couple spent time in Austin. | JONAS BROTHERS 'FREAKING OUT!' OVER MEETING DEREK JETER Blog |
Before gearing up for the kick off of their tour Monday, the Jonas Brothers took a little time out to visit Yankee Stadium and meet some of their favorite major league players over the weekend.
"We're freaking out!" gushed Joe Jonas to Buzznet.com. "We're like, inches away from Derek Jeter." Diehard baseball fans for their "whole life," says Joe, they also shook hands with infielder favorite Robinson Cano.
Oh how the perks of their gig just keep on getting better! With their album climbing the charts, Joe says the "feel good" record is just about being, "really positive and up beat because we've gone through a great year. Everything has gone right for us." Up next for the guys? In addition to their 14-city tour, the brothers plan to perform at MTV's Video Music Awards on Sept. 7. Though Kevin insists they can't say which song they'll be singing at the VMAs, he assures "it will be our next single." And if they don't win video of the year, Kevin says they'd be happy to loose to either Chris Brown or Britney Spears. "Britney, she seems to be having a really great comeback," he adds.
If all this wasn't enough, the guys plan to round out the year shooting their new show. "At first it was about spies," says Joe. "But now it's been more constructed. It's just going to be called Jonas and is going to be us dealing with trying to take out the trash and not get hounded by fans. It's going to be a funny show."
