• Kate Bosworth, toasting the fifth anniversary of West Hollywood Italian eatery – and celebrity magnet – Il Sole
with a soiree at the restaurant. Dining on the patio, the actress celebrated at the Veuve Clicquot-sponsored bash with some of the restaurant's most
loyal clientele, including Courteney Cox Arquette, husband David Arquette and newly single Nicollette
Sheridan. Outside, Bosworth raved about the truffle pasta, and other diners feasted on steak and tomato salad.
• Meanwhile, the day before, Bosworth and British beau James Rousseau shopped for an external hard drive together at the Apple
store at The Grove.
• Jessica Biel, getting highlights at Neil George Salon in Los Angeles. Stopping in almost before closing time, the actress
brought a friend along as she got her usual treatment, an onlooker tells us. Earlier in the day, Amanda Peet stopped in for some highlights, too,
bringing along her daughter, Frances, 18 months, who ran around the salon.
• Looking radiant in a gray knee-length summer dress, Jennifer Garner picked up some kid-friendly gear for daughter Violet
inside Jenny Bec's on Santa Monica's Montana Avenue. The expectant actress brought along her
daughter, and chatted with fellow shoppers during the kid-friendly visit.
Violet was having fun, a source says, and wanted to play dress up in
the store, so Garner bought her a Snow White costume along with some books
and other toys.
• Also at Jenny Bec's: Marcia Cross, who flipped through
books and escaped the heat in the popular shop. There with her nanny, the
Desperate Housewives actress made friends with fellow shoppers
before leaving with a bag full of books. Next stop? Café Luxxe, where Cross grabbed a coffee and hung out for a while.
Equally caffeinated, Helen Mirren grabbed some java there before
popping into the nearby toy store.
• Slipping into the role of Sporty Spice for one night, Geri
Halliwell threw out the first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers game – but not before getting support from her dancer boyfriend Ivan "Flipz" Velez. "They played catch on the sidelines so she could warm up,"
says an onlooker. After lobbing her successful pitch, Halliwell and her man
"locked up for a big hug," the onlooker tells us.
• Leonardo DiCaprio, moving to the music and sharing a Departed reunion with his costar Mark Wahlbergat New York hot spot Upstairs. The two attended an afterparty following Entourage's season 5 premiere.

Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton are again going their separate ways, a rep for the actress tells PEOPLE exclusively.
"Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement," said Nicole Perna. "They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter."
The couple's relationship originally started in 1993, and lasted about a year and a half. The musician, now 55, and the Desperate Housewives star, 44, then resumed seeing one another in 2005 – and in March 2006 had announced their wedding engagement.

| TERRI HATCHER'S CHILD-MOLESTER FORMER UNCLE DIES IN PRISON Blog |
The former uncle Teri Hatcher helped put in prison has died of colon cancer at 70, six years after being sentenced to 14 years behind bars for molesting two young girls, one of whom committed suicide, reports the San Jose Mercury News.
There has been no comment from Hatcher.
In 2006, the Desperate Housewives star went public with the revelation that Richard Hayes Stone – the then-husband of her mother's sister – molested her in the late 1960s and early '70s, when she was no more than 7.Hatcher said that she kept the abuse a secret from everyone, including her parents. She last saw Stone when she was 8 or 9 years old.
"That's a victim thing; you ask yourself, 'Am I just crazy? Did I make all this up?' Somehow it might be easier to accept that you're crazy and made it all up than to admit that it happened, and how awful it was," Hatcher, now 43, told Vanity Fair in 2006.
Like others, Hatcher had read newspaper accounts in 2002 about northern California teen Sarah Van Cleemput, who before shooting herself left behind a note saying, "You're probably thinking a normal teenager doesn't do this; well, ask Dick!"
Prosecutors linked "Dick" in the note to Stone, a former engineer at National Semiconductor and a close friend of Sarah Van Cleemput's family.
Putting the Victim FirstAfter much self-debate, including what this might do to her (then-stalled) career, Hatcher decided to contact authorities and provide further evidence of Stone's criminal past. "At the end of the day, there was no way I was not going to put this girl first, before whatever damage might be done to me," she said afterwards.
"When we went to interview her, she almost canceled," Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Chuck Gillingham told the Mercury News in 2006. "But she had been with her daughter that morning and was thinking if, God forbid, something happened to her daughter that someone would come forward and do the right thing."
Once Hatcher's interview transcript was entered into evidence, Stone pleaded guilty and received his sentence.

Is that a belly – or a baby bump?
As the latest round of pregnancy rumors swirl around Eva Longoria Parker, good pal Mario Lopez says she's falling back on her usual coping mechanism: Humor.
"We get a laugh out of it," Lopez told PEOPLE Thursday after hosting the live finale of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew in Burbank, Calif. "She's really cool. She just takes everything as it comes."
The Desperate Housewives actress, 33, has been the focus of a bump-watch, ever since she tied the knot with husband Tony Parker in July 2007.
This week, speculation picked up again when she was spotted wearing a long, flowy top in Los Angeles. And just last month, she told reporters she "can't wait" to have children. To date, the actress's rep has consistently denied the pregnancy reports.
While Longoria Parker doesn't always pay attention to the rumor mill, she is definitely aware of the chatter, said Lopez.
"She doesn't [read about herself], but I think people tell her – and she gets a kick out of it," he explained. "She's very calm and very secure. She knows people are always going to [talk]. That stuff doesn't bother her."

ABC has awarded Lost star Matthew Fox with a raise!
The actor, 42, signed a new deal worth $225,000 per episode, up from $150,000, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Long considered the show's lead, Fox's pay now puts him on par with the stars of ABC's Desperate Housewives.
Other Lost stars are reportedly in the process of renegotiating their contracts.
Evangeline Lilly currently commands $150,000 per episode while others are in the $80-90,000 range.

Eva Longoria Parker's boss has spilled the beans!
"Eva is desperately trying to get pregnant with [husband] Tony Parker," Desperate Housewives' creator and executive producer Marc Cherry told Us Weekly in its latest issue, on newsstands now.
"After they phone their doctor, she promised me I will be the next call," he added.

The 33-year-old actress is getting a practice pregnancy run at work.
"Gaby is having a very tough time being the mother of two overweight, hyperactive children," Cherry revealed of the show's next season, which advances five years. "But Eva is having a marvelous time playing her!"
The Parkers wed last year.

side. The happy couple attended an A-list soiree (thrown by the mag's
editor-in-chief Linda Wells) on the roof of
the Thompson Beverly Hills hotel. The couple held hands on the way to
dinner, and acted "affectionate all night long," a guest tells us. Guests
were also given the Beckhams' new fragrance, Signature for Her, and dined on
sushi, steak and salad cooked by BondSt, the sushi restaurant inside the hotel.
• Also at the Allure fete: Kate Beckinsale and hubby Len Wiseman. Eva Longoria Parker was there with husband Tony Parker, too
– and the Desperate Housewives actress hugged Beckinsale,
saying, "You're so tiny!"
• Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson were
attached at the hip inside the bash, a guest tells us. Even while Ronson spun
her famous blend of '80s tunes from the deejay booth at the
event (which also brought out Jamie Foxx and Quincy Jones),
Lohan was huddled by her side. Later, the twosome joined the
party and, at one point, Lohan even ordered tea (how proper!) while sitting
at the Beckhams' table.
• Ginnifer Goodwin, biking to Santa Monica's Exhale Yoga
with boyfriend Chris Klein. The pair went in together, then set up their
mats side-by-side. Klein put his mat so close to his girlfriend's
– too close! – that the teacher had to separate them. After their
workout, the pair hopped on their bikes and headed off.
• Cynthia Nixon and her girlfriend, Christine Marinoni, enjoying a quiet dinner
at Wei Fun in East Hampton, N.Y. The couple sat on the patio eating curry shrimp,
vegetable fried rice and pea shoots, and drank tea.
• Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, hosting the Eaturna
Kids Tennis Clinic in Santa Monica. The cute couple was very professional,
letting every kid – among the 100 who turned out – participate.

and the two had just finished dinner, chatting as they said their goodbyes.
• They're hitting the road with their beaus! Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, hanging out in the green room
and on the side of the stage as Good Charlotte rocked the House of
Blues Orlando. Also in the house: former 'N Sync member Chris Kirkpatrick.• Jay-Z, popping into FAO Schwarz in New York for a little

• Dennis Quaid, graciously posing with female fans at the
Hideout in Santa Monica. The actor hung at the cozy bar with a male friend

• Eva Longoria Parker's Hollywood
restaurant Beso drew in the stars this week. On Wednesday evening, the
Desperate Housewives actress mixed it up with everyone from Emmy Rossum to Kathy Griffin and Janice Dickinson.
Longoria Parker sent over a free dessert to Griffin just before Dickinson
made a beeline for the reality star, exclaiming, "I want to go lick Kathy
Griffin's face!" She didn't, but the comedian still looked shellshocked
after their tête-à-tête.

Desperate Housewives star Ricardo Chavira and his wife Marcea Dietzel have welcomed a baby girl, Entertainment Tonight reports.
Belen Elysabeth Chavira — who was born at 5:59 p.m. Monday in San Antonio, Texas — weighed 7 lbs,, 12 oz.
The couple — who wed in 2007 — have a son, Tomas, 5.
On Friday, Chavira's co-star Kyle MacLachlan and his wife, Project Runway executive producer Desiree Gruber, greeted a boy, Callum.

Callum Lyon MacLachlan was born Friday in Los Angeles and weighed 8 lbs, 6 oz.
MacLachlan, 49, whose next film is The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, and Gruber, 41, an executive producer of Project Runway, have been married for six years.MacLachlan, who returns to Desperate Housewives this season, told PEOPLE in May that the couple – who knew they were having a boy – were still trying to settle on a name. The actor said he was excited about fatherhood. "It's one of those crazy things," he said. "I'm having the best time watching her body change. I'm paying attention to little kids now."

He and wife, Project Runway executive producer Desiree Gruber, welcomed their first child on Friday, Usmagazine.com has confirmed.
Callum Lyon MacLachlan weighed in at 8 lbs, 6 oz.

"I've got a little set of golf clubs all ready," MacLachlan, 48, told the New York Post earlier this year. "Just not sure if the club head covers will be pink or blue."
The couple have been married for six years.
MacLachlan will appear in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2; Gruber runs the public relations agency Full Picture.

• Victoria Beckham, attracting hordes of young
fans to her table while lunching with son Romeo, 5, at the American Girl
Place café at The Grove in Los Angeles. "So many kids were
coming up to the table to meet her," an onlooker tells us. But Posh didn't
mind the attention, the onlooker says. After lunch, the fashionista and her
son walked – or rather, Romeo rolled on his shoes with wheels – with an
entourage (including two bodyguards) to the Quicksilver Youth shop where
they browsed the swimwear before hopping into a waiting car.
• Old friends Owen Wilson and Woody Harrelson, chatting with the owner of Hollywood's Green Door in the lounge's library
area. The happy trio chatted, took tequila shots and attracted the attention
of female patrons. "Chicks were coming up to them left and right," an
onlooker tells us. "The guys were having a good time."
• Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson,
getting sweet at Dylan's Candy Bar in East Hampton, N.Y., where the two
shopped for candy. Ronson picked up some chocolate-covered graham crackers
and some candy lipsticks during the quick visit.
• The Jonas Brothers, leaning over the center
balcony at the House of Blues in West Hollywood during Rooney's
concert. (Rooney opened for the Jonas Brothers on their last tour!) The guys
– Joe, Nick and Kevin – were surrounded by a posse of guys their
age who sang and fist-pumped along with every song. While audience
members rocked out to Rooney, too, apparently it was the Jonas Brothers who turned
heads. After the band's encore of "I'm Shakin,'" loads of teenage girls ran
for the balcony stairs to try and meet the guys.
• Marcia Cross, picking up fresh produce and flowers at the
Brentwood Farmers Market. The Desperate Housewives star sported
workout attire while picking up tomatoes, white corn and two bunches of
fresh flowers. The corn was also a hit for Don Cheadle, who grabbed
some to-go as well.
Also Spotted ... • Chace Crawford, celebrating his 23rd birthday
with a white chocolate cake, 200 cupcakes, a barbecue – and pals
Blake Lively and Penn Badgley at Casa El San
Juan Hotel in Water Mill, N.Y. The Gossip Girl hottie told us
about one of his birthday gifts. The present? A painting of Superman,
gifted by his folks. ... Nicky Hilton, flying to the Hamptons
on a V1 jet from Manhattan. The fashion designer hosted a
private bash for guests like Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson, who shopped at Mulberry earlier in the day.

On the upcoming season of Desperate Housewives, Eva Longoria Parker's character will turn into an exhausted homemaker with two kids. In real life, the actress is looking forward to having her own children with husband Tony Parker.
"I can't wait!" Longoria Parker, 33, told PEOPLE Monday after a press conference announcing the 2008 Alma Awards.
Pregnancy rumors began anew after she was photographed off the coast of Italy in a bikini looking slightly fuller than normal in early July. But her rep has said the actress put on weight to play the part of Gabrielle this season. The 2008 Alma Awards air on ABC on Sept. 12 and highlight the work of Latino actors in film and television. Longoria Parker, the host and executive producer of the show, attended Monday's Alma announcement with actor Christian de la Fuente.

"Tony cut my hair!" the actress, 33, tells Entertainment Tonight.
"I had to cut my hair for the show because Gabrielle has short hair," she says. "I wore a wig in the last episode, but I didn't want to wear a wig this whole season, so I was like, 'I'm going to cut it!'"

She says her hairstylist Ken Paves forced Parker to make the first move.
"He said, 'Tony, you're going to do the first cut, so she can't be mad at me,'" she says. "Tony did the first snip. He did more and then he did more and then Kenny cleaned it up."

She also revealed how she is packing on the pounds the next season of Desperate Housewives.
To make Gabrielle look like she has two kids, Longoria says she now eats "everything in sight! Pasta ... pizza.
"Tony and I went crazy this summer!" says Longoria, who also stopped working out.
Her other secret for looking heavier? "I have butt pads, I have thigh pads, I have stomach pads!"

Housewives creator Marc Cherry said at the Television Critics Association on Thursday that he plans to end the ABC series after seven seasons. The fifth season airs this fall.

Tina Fey's 30 Rock is among the leaders at the 60th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, earning 17 nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress (Fey) and Outstanding Lead Actor (Alec Baldwin).
AMC's buzzed-about drama Mad Men nabbed 16 nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, while ABC newcomer Pushing Daisies earned 12 nominations.
The HBO historical drama John Adams earned the most nominations (23).
Despite the hubbub made Katherine Heigl's decision to withdraw her nomination, Grey's Anatomy received just five nods (it is not up for Outstanding Drama Series). Sandra Oh and Chandra Wilson each received nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Drama Series.
Desperate Housewives took home four nominations.
Meanwhile, American Idol will face off against Project Runway, The Amazing Race, Top Chef and Dancing With The Stars for Outstanding Reality-competition Program.
The show airs on ABC September 21.
