Actor Ryan O'Neal and his son Redmond have both been charged with felony possession of methamphetamines TMZ reported on Wednesday.
Both men are scheduled to be arraigned on November 13 according to TMZ.
Ryan, 67, and Redmond, 24, were arrested on suspicion of meth possession at the star's home in Malibu in September.
Authorities found Redmond in possession of the drug while a vial was discovered in Ryan's bedroom, Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told the Los Angeles Times.
The police search was related to Redmond's probation. He was arrested last year in Malibu on charges related to possession of heroin and meth while driving under the influence.
Ryan, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his starring role in 1970's Love Story, was also arrested last year on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and negligent discharge of a firearm during an argument with another son, Griffin. The actor claimed he only fired a warning shot.
Redmond's mother is actress Farrah Fawcett.

Drugs found by police in Ryan O'Neal's home didn't belong to him and the actor "will be fully vindicated," his lawyer tells PEOPLE.
"Those were not Ryan's drugs, he doesn't use drugs, and has nothing to do with them," attorney Mark Werksman said Thursday. "It's a dangerous assumption for deputies to have arrested Ryan just because he was in proximity to the drugs."
Werksman declined to specify how a vial of methamphetamines found by sheriff's deputies Wednesday ended up in Ryan's bedroom, or whose drugs they were. O'Neal and his son were both arrested for alleged drug possession.
"This situation is very upsetting to Ryan because he's just trying to lead his life quietly," Werksman added. "I have full confidence that Ryan will be vindicated." Separately, a source close to the case confirms that Ryan O'Neal's on-again, off-again partner Farrah Fawcett was asleep in the actor's Malibu home at the time of the arrests.
Ryan O'Neal, 67, and his son Redmond, 23, are currently free on bail after posting $10,000 bond each following their arrests. Formal criminal charges have yet to be filed.
Ryan O'Neal was previously arrested in Feb. 2007 for an altercation with his other son, Griffin, but the L.A. District Attorney's Office declined to prosecute the case due to insufficient evidence.
Earlier Thursday, O'Neal's daughter Tatum spoke out on the latest arrest as well.

This past June, he pleaded guilty to drug possession and one misdemeanor DUI charge.Tatum O'Neal, who won an Oscar at age 10 for starring with her father in Paper Moon, told PEOPLE after her arrest in June that she hadn't spoken to her father in "years and years," and that her difficult childhood still haunted her. After battling drugs and alcohol over the years, she said she had been sober a year when she was arrested. "I was trying to relapse," she said. "I made a giant, horrible mistake that I regret and feel really ashamed and embarrassed about. I take full responsibility."

Actor Ryan O'Neal and his son, Redmond, were arrested Wednesday at the actor's Malibu, Calif., home for alleged drug possession, a sheriff's spokesman confirms.
"This morning, deputies were doing a routine sweep to make sure Redmond was adhering to his probation," sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said. "Upon searching the premises, the younger O'Neal was found in possession of narcotics. Later, a vial of drugs were found in the elder O'Neal's bedroom. We believe the drugs found were methamphetamines."
Both Ryan, 67, and Redmond, 23, are being held at a local sheriff's station in lieu of $10,000 bail each. Redmond O'Neal's mother is Farrah Fawcett and his half-sister is Tatum O'Neal, who was arrested July 1 in New York City for trying to buy drugs.
Reps for Ryan O'Neal and Farrah Fawcett weren't immediately available for comment.
Redmond has a history of drug abuse, having entered rehab in 2004 for heroin abuse. This past June, he pleaded guilty to drug possession and one misdemeanor DUI charge.

Ryan, 67, and Redmond are being held on $10,000 bail at the Malibu/Lost Hills sheriff's station.
The police search was related to Redmond's probation. He was arrested last year in Malibu on charges related to possession of heroin and meth while driving under the influence. As part of his plea, he was sentenced to three years of probation and charged $1,688 for the DUI.
