Kate Beckinsale admits she isn't always confident about her body.
"I'm entirely normal. I have my good days and my bad days," she tells the December issue of British Elle. "I am a lot more body confident now I'm in my 30s and am in better shape, too."
When she was in her 20s, she says she "didn't have a clue" about healthy eating.
"I'd eat a small breakfast and lunch and then have a baked potato for dinner and feel really horrible," she says. "Now my typical daily diet is eggs or oatmeal for breakfast, a chicken or vegetable wrap for lunch, then fish and vegetables for dinner.
Who won the weight war last year?
"But if someone turns up with cupcakes mid-afternoon, I'll have one," she continues. "I'm not aiming to be Gisele. And I'd hate to be one of those people who won't allow themselves a slice of birthday cake."
She says she is "amazed that people obsess over my body image so much. Why do we encourage this war on women's bodies? It's a horrendous way to live, and I refuse to."

Going to the gym can be tough, she admits.
"I just can't make it part of my daily life," says the star. "I go to the gym when I have to, and if I have to bulk up or slim down for a film, I will.
"I've recently got back into exercising four times a week. I run for half an hour at a time but never outdoors, as I don't exercise in public," she says. "My gym's in my garage at home."
She also opened up about being BFFs with Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham.
"Victoria is lovely and very down-to-earth," she says. "She loves taking the piss out of herself, which is a good thing, as far as I'm concerned ... we laugh a lot together."
Of Posh’s fashion line, Beckinsale says, "I’m really proud of her. I'd definitely wear one of them, provided I could fit my bum into it."

| NICOLE KIDMAN STEPS OUT FOR ELLE'S WOMEN IN HOLLYWOOD TRIBUTE Blog |
Nicole Kidman joined Hollywood's biggest actresses – including Halle Berry, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lopez – for the 15th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute Monday night in L.A.
Kidman, Hathaway and Berry were among the women who took home Icon Awards at the dinner and ceremony, hosted by Elle magazine at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills.
In one of her first public appearances since giving birth in July to daughter Sunday Rose, Kidman arrived sans husband Keith Urban, and wearing a Prada minidress. "It's nice to be a part of a celebration," she told PEOPLE. "It's a lovely time to be working in Hollywood." At the awards ceremony later, her Bewitched costar Shirley Maclaine presented Kidman with her award and marveled, "She's in the Meryl Streep category in my opinion. She's, maybe with Meryl, the two best."
Kidman's fellow Aussie actress Isla Fisher also gushed about her. "She's kind of the acting equivalent of a nine-gang jujitsu master yellow belt," said Fisher.
The Wedding Crashers actress accepted the Calvin Klein Spotlight Award from pal Courteney Cox, who called Fisher "a truly amazing mother" as Fisher's fiancè, Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen, proudly filmed her acceptance speech on a handheld camera.
Meanwhile, a Roberto Cavailli-clad Berry, who brought her boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, beamed as Diane Keaton welcomed her on stage. She told the celeb-packed audience about how Keaton wrote an inspirational note to her after her Oscar win for Monster's Ball, which she often refers to. "I always go back to those words Diane, that winning wasn't everything."
Hathaway, who wore Marc Jacobs, described the evening as "wonderous-strange." The actress also wore her heart on her sleeve as she accepted her award from her Get Smart director, Peter Segal: "Jane Fonda and Diane Keaton, you won't find a woman in this room who won't kiss your feet, myself included," she gushed. "And should any of the honorees need an organ, call me."
The evening's other attendees included Leah Remini, Eva Mendes, Kate Beckinsale, Jenny McCarthy, Kerry Washington, Nicolette Sheridan, Sheryl Crowe and Sharon Osbourne.

• Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, stepping out in sync – both dressed in gray blazers – for dinner at Italian restaurant Il Valentino in midtown Manhattan. Perhaps the outing was a celebration for Holmes's success in the Broadway show All My Sons? The drama, which is running in previews, officially opens Oct. 16.
• Nicole Richie, having a late lunch with 8-month-old daughter Harlow at the Beverly Hills Hotel's Polo Lounge. The new mom, who sported a red floral-printed shirt and jean shorts and wore her hair partially pulled back, dined with an unidentified older woman and nibbled on the McCarthy chopped salad between playing with her little girl. She and her companion smiled and cooed over Harlow throughout their meal.
• Owen Wilson, making a late-night pit stop at one of his favorite haunts, Venice, Calif., bar The Other Room. Dressed casually in jeans, a T-shirt and a dark flannel button-down, he made his way to the back of the very crowded venue and laughed with a male friend over a drink at the bar. Wilson welcomed several fans who stopped by to say hello before leaving inconspicuously after only 20 minutes. A couple of days later, the actor had dinner with two male friends at trendy Venice eatery Gjelina, where they talked quietly at one of the restaurant's communal tables.
• Lauren Conrad, holding hands with boyfriend Kyle Howard at a 30th birthday bash for club promoter Jean Paul Rodriguez at Teddy's at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. The Hills star and her man stole kisses in the privacy of their booth and were inseparable during the party. Also making the scene: Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who danced to Katy Perry's "I Kissed a Girl", Frankie Delgado, Jesse McCartney and Kevin Connolly.
• Colin Farrell, watching his novelist girlfriend Emma Forrest do a striptease burlesque number set to traditional Jewish music at Heeb magazine's "Heeb Storytelling" night at M Bar in Hollywood. Farrell sported his ladylove's Star of David necklace while partying with fellow event-goers Natalie Portman, Kate Beckinsale and Rose McGowan.
• Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder took over a dark corner of VIP-only Bar 1200 at the Sunset Marquis Hotel and Villas in West Hollywood. Reeves, dressed in jeans and a black blazer, and Ryder, wearing a black T-shirt and pants, sipped cocktails as they talked seriously. The actress, whose shoes were off, sat catty-corner from her former Dracula costar, who listened intently to her as he chain-smoked. As the night went on, the pair inched closer and closer to each other so that they ended up sitting side by side. They stayed until closing and then headed out together.

• Paris Hilton – in vintage threads and carrying a handbag from her own line – and Benji Madden, appearing to be inseparable at club mur.mur at the Borgata Casino & Spa in Atlantic City. And the staff there was nearly as doting as her boyfriend: The waiters and security guards wore "Paris for President" pins.
• Could Audrina Patridge and Justin Bobby be moving back into the "more than just friends" category? The exes were hanging out at West Hollywood's Crown Bar, where they "were totally inseparable all night," an onlooker tells us. The pair came and left together, but spent their time "giggling, laughing and playfully holding hands." Meanwhile, Audrina's Hills pals (and former roommates) Lauren Conrad and Lauren "Lo" Bosworth partied with Brody Jenner and Frankie Delgado. And if there was tension, it wasn't showing. "There wasn't a whole lot of weirdness," says a source, explaining, Audrina "didn't seem to care what everyone else was up to." Also there: Lindsay Lohan, acting very kissy with Samantha Ronson.• Ryan Phillippe, holding hands with Abbie Cornish downstairs at The Stork in Hollywood. The couple whispered to each other at night, kissing and enjoying their time in the restaurant. Meanwhile, upstairs, Spike Lee hosted a party to screen his latest movie, Miracle at St. Anna, drawing out everybody from Eve to Matthew Perry.• TV's favorite couple, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, cuddling at West Hollywood lounge Foxtail and greeting friends. Montag sat on her fiancé's lap, while they were laughing, kissing and proving to be all over each other. They left shortly before the club was closing.
• Vince Vaughn and new girlfriend Kyla Weber, strolling and shopping at The Grove in Los Angeles. Vaughn, dressed down in a red hat, casual clothes and running shoes, was quite the gentleman and held Weber's hand the whole time they walked around. The lovey-dovey pair browsed the sunglass boutique Davante before heading to the valet. "They were holding hands and laughing with each other," says an onlooker.
• Kate Beckinsale, eating at R+D Kitchen with hubby Len Wiseman on Santa Monica's Montana Avenue. And Montana Avenue was buzzing with stars: Nearby, Naomi Watts stopped in for a pedicure at Montana Ave Nail Spa, and Marcia Cross got her caffeine fix at her favorite coffee shop, Caffe Luxxe.
• It was a who's who of celebrity couples at the grand re-opening of the Coral Casino Beach & Cabana Club at the Four Seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara: Former Bachelor Andrew Firestone proudly showed off wife Ivana Bozilovic's baby bump. What about the baby's gender? The couple said they were waiting to find out until closer to the due date. Meanwhile, Jason Wahler joined his fiancée Katja Decker-Sadowski for some cocktails, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus and hubby Brad Hall enjoyed the Louis Vuitton fashion show.

• Brad Pitt, dining with director Quentin Tarantino and Diane Kruger at Al contadino sotto le stelle, a
small, hip Italian restaurant in East Berlin. The group discussed their work
on Inglorious Bastards, their new movie, over dinner. But Pitt
isn't just talking about his work – he's already on the set. The day
after their business dinner, Pitt reported to Studio Babelsberg, according
to a source. While he's working on the Tarantino project, the actor and his
entire family has moved to Germany, living outside of the capital.
• It was a busy, celeb-studded day at the Beverly Hills Neil George
Salon. First, Kate Beckinsale popped in for a blow-dry.
It seems that her director husband Len Wiseman had the same idea:
He dropped by the salon on his own for some services. Also at Neil George:
Kristin Cavallari, making her second stop in two days. (She had extensions done, then got her hair cut.) And later in the day, Sienna Miller stopped in for highlights, bringing along a friend for her late afternoon appointment.
• File this under guys night out: Leonardo DiCaprio, hanging with Entourage's Kevin Connolly at
West Hollywood's Apple Lounge. The duo shared their table with Maroon 5
singer Adam Levine, and the guys "were enjoying being boys, and
talking and drinking," an onlooker tells us of the group. "They were having
the time of their life." Also at the nightspot: Paul Walker and
DWTS pro Cheryl Burke. That same night, Connolly and
Burke were spotted at Coco de Ville, though they never interacted. Connolly
did say hello to Brody Jenner's wingman, Frankie Delgado, though Jenner wasn't at the nightspot himself. A source
tell us that he and Delgado did have dinner together before at STK.
• Rachel Bilson, making a daring style statement
while out to lunch in West Hollywood. The actress turned heads in her bright
green Chanel sunglasses while dining with a friend at Madeo, an Italian
eatery.
• 90210 actor Adam Gregory, waiting for his car at
the valet line at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills with gaggles of
girls gawking at him. The TV star stopped by the Klipsch lounge and snapped
some earphones, among other good stuff.
• Also at the Four Seasons: Lionel Richie, stopping to hug
Holly Robinson Peete while leaving the dining room
after lunch. The singer whipped out his iPhone to show off a picture of
granddaughter Harlow in a baby hoodie. The table's reaction to the pic? She
is "gorgeous," according to a source.

• Paris Hilton, curled up with some magazines in
business class on an American Airlines flight from New York to Los Angeles.
The heiress, who attended beau Benji Madden's concert in New York,
got comfy in her black and white hoodie with her own blanket and pillow,
which she carried on the flight. Hilton was escorted to the plane before
other passengers and slept throughout the flight. When she landed in L.A.,
she hit the bathroom to touch up her lip gloss and apply some makeup.
• Jennifer Garner, dropping by kid-friendly
Giggles N' Hugs restaurant in Brentwood, Calif., with daughter Violet, 2. The duo appeared to be on a playdate with one of Garner's
friends. Between bites of pizza, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and a
healthy apple salad, they spent time coloring and face painting for about an
hour before leaving.
• Renée Zellweger,hitting up celebrity favorite Neil George Salon for a little touchup. The
actress got her base and blonde highlights redone. "She was in an upbeat
mood," an onlooker says. Also there: Kate Beckinsale's
director husband, Len Wiseman, and celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe. • Country music star Martina McBride, indulging in a private
tasting with her husband, John McBride, while on a tour with
the B.R. Cohn Winery in Sonoma, Calif. Also there with her daughter Ava, 3,
the singer toured the property and autographed a guitar for a charity
auction.

dinner, and acted "affectionate all night long," a guest tells us. Guests
were also given the Beckhams' new fragrance, Signature for Her, and dined on
sushi, steak and salad cooked by BondSt, the sushi restaurant inside the hotel.
• Also at the Allure fete: Kate Beckinsale and hubby Len Wiseman. Eva Longoria Parker was there with husband Tony Parker, too
– and the Desperate Housewives actress hugged Beckinsale,
saying, "You're so tiny!"
• Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson were
attached at the hip inside the bash, a guest tells us. Even while Ronson spun
her famous blend of '80s tunes from the deejay booth at the
event (which also brought out Jamie Foxx and Quincy Jones),
Lohan was huddled by her side. Later, the twosome joined the
party and, at one point, Lohan even ordered tea (how proper!) while sitting
at the Beckhams' table.
• Ginnifer Goodwin, biking to Santa Monica's Exhale Yoga
with boyfriend Chris Klein. The pair went in together, then set up their
mats side-by-side. Klein put his mat so close to his girlfriend's
– too close! – that the teacher had to separate them. After their
workout, the pair hopped on their bikes and headed off.
• Cynthia Nixon and her girlfriend, Christine Marinoni, enjoying a quiet dinner
at Wei Fun in East Hampton, N.Y. The couple sat on the patio eating curry shrimp,
vegetable fried rice and pea shoots, and drank tea.
• Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, hosting the Eaturna
Kids Tennis Clinic in Santa Monica. The cute couple was very professional,
letting every kid – among the 100 who turned out – participate.

• Reese Witherspoon, getting pampered with a mani/pedi at Nail Spa Lane in Santa Monica. The actress brought along a
girlfriend – and picked raspberry red polish. When it was time to go, Witherspoon needed help picking up her silver wallet to avoid ruining her manicure.
• Also at Nail Spa Lane (separately): Kate Beckinsale, who went with nude polish on her hands and orange polish for her feet, while husband Len Wiseman sat reading Allure magazine. Then, before heading home, the couple
stopped by a Wild Oats Market in Santa Monica.
• Teri Hatcher and her daughter Emerson, shopping and bedazzling a T-shirt at Fashionology LA – a boutique where
customers can decorate their own clothing – in Beverly Hills.
