| PHOTO: KRISTEN JOHNSTON GOES NAKED FOR PETA Blog |
Kristen Johnston is speaking out against horse-drawn carriages – and stripping down in the process.
The 3rd Rock from the Sun star will appear in a new PETA ad campaign called "Don’t Get Taken for a Ride – Horse-Drawn Carriages Are Cruel." In her ad, Johnston, 41, appears naked on the back of a horse in a pose that recalls Lady Godiva. "I was blown away by how these horses live, or actually I should say, don't live," the actress says in a statement. "I'd say to tourists who are considering coming to New York, there's so much amazing stuff about Manhattan ... Oh my God, just take a walk."
"And I hope within the next year that there are no more carriage horses," her statement continues.
The ads will debut Thursday in Central Park and appear on New York City taxis.

| KRISTEN JOHNSTON: I’VE GAINED 20 POUNDS Blog |
Kristen Johnston, who admits she was “way too thin” earlier this summer when she dropped 60 pounds following a burst ulcer, told Usmagazine.com, “I’ve gained about 20 pounds.”
At her skinniest, the six-foot-tall Johnston, 41, weighed 133 pounds.

Now, “I’m at the weight that I should be,” said the star of the upcoming Bride Wars who spoke with Us at the Young Friends of the ASPCA benefit in New York City on Thursday. “I’ve evened out now. It’s a good weight for me.”
Johnston told Us she put the weight on in a “normal” way. “I don’t have a diet routine. I don’t eat fried crap and I don’t drink booze.”

As for working out, Johnston said, “I exercise from walking everywhere in New York. I feel great now. I’m really healthy.”
She added the rumors that swirled at the time of her weight loss — blogs accused her of being anorexic — were “frustrating” because she had a genuine illness.
“People can’t believe that an actress might actually be sick,” she said. “At a certain point you have to say, ‘I don’t care what anybody says about me.’”
