| POLICE REVISE VALUE OF MISSING JEWELS FROM LINDSAY LOHAN PHOTO SHOOT Blog |
The jewelry that went missing after a June 6 British magazine photo shoot starring Lindsay Lohan was worth a tenth of the value first reported – or, $38,500 rather than the $400,000 initially estimated by London's Metropolitan Police, a spokesman for the force tells PEOPLE.
The spokesman, who says the initial estimate was provided in good faith, adds that "inquiries are continuing" and there have been no arrests in the case. The jewelry – diamond earrings and a necklace – is said to be from Dior, but the company has not confirmed that.
The items in question were being worn for a feature intended for an upcoming issue of the U.K. edition of Elle.
When news of the investigation broke, Lohan's mother Dina defended her daughter, saying that any finger-pointing at the 23-year-old was "defamatory, false and unfair" – while a spokeswoman for Elle said the magazine had "no reason to believe that Lindsay Lohan was in any way responsible and has no further comment to make."

Are Lindsay Lohan's claims that she invented a fake tan spray ... well, fake?
A Florida chemist, Jennifer Sunday, has filed a lawsuit in Tampa federal court claiming that Lohan and a Nevada woman stole the formula for the spray – Sevin Nyne – from her, according to the St. Petersburg Times.
Lohan and Lorit Simon, a Las Vegas businesswoman who air-brushes tans for celebs, launched Sevin Nyne in May, claiming it took them three years to create it.Sunday is now suing Lohan, Simon, and Simon's company for breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, civil conspiracy, intentional interference with contractual relations and deceptive and unfair trade practices.
"We are certainly looking for the profits that are being generated right now from that product," Sunday's lawyer, Marcia Cohen, told the Times. "If Ms. Lohan and Ms. Simon and their companies and their shareholders are profiting from the theft of my client's formula and are profiting from that product, my client is entitled to those proceeds."
Lohan's publicist could not be reached by the Times.

Don't expect Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi to become moms anytime soon.
Although the couple told PEOPLE last August that they talk about having kids, they have decided that they are happier being cool aunts.
"I don't think we're going to have kids," DeGeneres tells AOL Television. "We have animals, and we love them. And, you know, we are brand new aunts. Her brother and his wife just had a baby girl who's a month old now, and it's fun to be a part of that." After tying the knot last summer, DeGeneres told PEOPLE, "It's something we would never take lightly and just say, 'That would be fun.' It's a lot of work and we recognize that. In a way, we want to be selfish because we love our life, but we know how much that adds to it."
DeGeneres, 51, and de Rossi, 36, who have crusaded for gay marriage, have since decided to focus on their relationship rather than have children. "It's just a huge responsibility, and I don't know that that's something we want to take on," DeGeneres says. "We're very happily married without children."

Forget the missing London jewels for a moment: Lindsay Lohan's mom worries her daughter has been robbed of her peace of mind.
"Last month her personal cell was posted online and now her phone messages have been hacked," Dina Lohan tells PEOPLE. "This must stop. She is a 22-year-old girl who needs to live her life in peace. The tabloids need to leave her alone with all the lies and reporting with no proof."
Specifically, Dina says any suggestion her daughter is involved in the theft of jewelry during a recent photo shoot for British Elle is "defamatory, false and unfair." Lindsay is one of some 20 people at the shoot who are being questioned by police and has never been called a suspect. What's more, "Elle made a public statement backing Lindsay," Dina says. Lindsay, says Dina, recently spent time quality time with her family in the meantime on Long Island. "Lindsay has been home with me and her family for awhile now, celebrating her little brother [Cody's] confirmation and his 13th birthday."

| REPORT: ROBERT PATTINSON HIT BY TAXICAB Blog |
Amid a New York City mob of frenzied fans, Rob Pattinson collided with a taxi on the street outside the Strand bookstore downtown Thursday, according to reports.
The Twilight actor, in Manhattan filming Remember Me, apparently attempted to run across the street to escape a hoard of fans when he was clipped on his hip by a moving cab, whose driver slammed his breaks upon impact.
Pattinson, 23, did not appear to be injured and was able to walk away from the incident. Production sources on the Remember Me set claim that Pattinson regularly attracts mobs of fans throughout the city wherever they're filming. "It's been nonstop busy all day with people trying to get a glimpse of him, and the crowd goes nuts when they do see him," a set source told PEOPLE Tuesday.
As a result, the actor has hired his own security in addition to the bodyguards provided by Summit Entertainment, according to the source, who adds that the heartthrob maintains a positive mentality about his fan base.
"I think he appreciates it. He's not one to make a big deal about it. He's a chill guy and quiet so far," the source says. "I think he finds it a little weird that people are standing outside all day to get a glimpse of him, but grateful."
Neither Summit Entertainment nor a rep for Pattinson was immediately available for comment.

Call them brothers in arms: Prince William gave his strongest hint yet that he would like to follow his brother Prince Harry and go to war.
"In my eyes, if Harry can do it then I can do it," William said Thursday. "I didn't join the forces to be mollycoddled or treated any differently." And, he added that while others think it "impossible" for him to take a front line role, "I still remain hopeful there's a chance."
Harry, 24, fulfilled a 10-week tour in Afghanistan, in March 2008 and is now learning to fly helicopters because, he says, it's his "easiest way of getting to the front lines."
He joined his brother at a special media day to talk about their training and living together while they are both based at RAF Shawbury, in Shropshire, England. William is undergoing tuition to be a pilot in Royal Air Force Search and Rescue crews, while Harry is in the early stages of learning to fly army helicopters.The younger prince appears to have given up on the dream of flying high-tech Apache attack helicopters – opting for the more supportive roles of the utility chopper, the Lynx. "Brain capacity? I don't know if I've got it for the Apache," he told the media frankly. "I will fly what I am told to fly and wherever I'm told to fly." If all goes to plan, Harry might get his chance to fly back into Afghanistan in early 2011.
The brothers, who lodge together in a house off the base, also joked about what it was like to be under the same roof. "This is the first time and the last time we will be living together," Harry said.
"It's been an emotional experience," his older brother shot back. And he says he does all the work. "Bearing in mind I cook, I feed him every day – I think he's done very well."
But Harry – speaking in New York recently – said he did the dishes, so what gives? "Yes, Harry does do the washing up but then he leave most of it in the sink and then I come back in the morning and I have to wash it up," William explained, adding, "I do a fair bit of tidying up after him. He snores a lot too. He keeps me up all night long."
"Oh God, now they will think we are sharing a bed!" Harry replied, calling the claims "lies."
Despite all the banter, William, who turns 27 Sunday, might not get a birthday present from his brother. When reminded of the date, Harry said, "Oh God, it isn't is it?" William added, "He has just realized it now and he hasn't got my present. But I would not expect it now. I will be lucky if I get a card."
Next up for the birthday boy is a month's training in north Wales at RAF Valley in Angelsey in the fall. His course ends at RAF Shawbury in early 2010.

Move over Miley: There's a new Cyrus in the spotlight.
The Hannah Montana star's older sister, Brandi Cyrus, recently performed with her band Frank and Derol, which includes lead singer Codi Caraco and Secret Life of the American Teenager star Megan Park on bass. The trio made their big stage debut opening for another Cyrus of note – Brandi's dad Billy Ray – at Los Angeles's House of Blues on Sunday.
Not that this was a first gig for Brandi, 22. She's been a guitarist for Miley on tour and on Hannah Montana. "I was really excited because the House of Blues is such a cool venue and we have been working so hard, rehearsing every day," says Park. "Honestly, I just couldn't wait to get up and do it again!"Park and Caraco formed the indie pop group less than a year ago after meeting at a family friend's birthday party. Park later recruited close pal Brandi to write songs for them and "we really liked what she contributed," Park told PEOPLE, "so we started working with her a lot more and it all naturally fell into place."
Out to support Brandi's first major public performance: None other than Miley's ex, Justin Gaston, who was spotted in the VIP balcony and stayed through the end of the show. Miley, meanwhile, was in Georgia filming her new movie, The Last Song.
The all-girl band plans to continue performing at various venues while pursuing a record deal.

Chris Brown has lost his bid to delay the June 22 preliminary hearing in his assault case, the California Supreme Court has ruled. The R&B singer, 20, has pleaded not guilty to assaulting and threatening Rihanna, 21, on Feb. 8.

For months, the couple has dodged reports of trouble in the marriage. Joel, 60, married Katie, 27, in a sunset wedding on September 2004 at his 15-acre waterfront Center Island estate in Long Island. Katie is a chef and former host of Bravo's Top Chef.

Rock of Love star Bret Michaels describes his Tony Awards accident in one way: "I got my bell rung!"
"All in all, I'd like to think I feel okay," the Poison frontman, 46, tells PEOPLE. "But I got to be honest with you, I feel pretty beat up."
During the opening number on the June 7 telecast of Broadway's biggest night, Michaels suffered a fractured nose and split lip after he was hit by a large sign descending from the ceiling following Poison's performance with the Rock of Ages cast. "I want to make very clear to everybody that – first and foremost – I was honored to be asked to be at the Tonys. I'd never done it before and in all my life it's not something I thought I'd be on. I was really excited," Michaels says. "There's no lawsuit. I'm not doing any of that. I'm taking the high road."
He has other things to focus on, he says. Poison kicks off their tour with Def Leppard on June 23. And his tell-all book, Roses & Thorns, hits bookstores late this summer.
In the meantime, Michaels is still enjoying the company of VH1's Rock of Love season-three winner, Taya Parker.
"We're dating, we're having fun, we'll see what happens," Michaels says. "It's not exclusive, but we're dating and having a great time."

Lauren Conrad won't be going under the knife anytime soon – and it's all in the name of fashion.
"You know what, I prefer a flatter-chested look," Conrad, 23, tells Access Hollywood. "That's just kind of me. I think it's more of a fashion look. If you look at a lot of high-fashion models and things like that, they're always you know, a little flatter ... I like the way clothes fit better."
"Big boobs?" she adds, "No I mean ... that's what wonder bras are for!" While The Hills star says she doesn't have any plans for plastic surgery, she hasn't ruled out getting a few Botox injections in the future. "I'm 23, I think that I'm good for a little bit," she explained at a release party for her novel L.A. Candy. "I don't know, maybe later on."
And Conrad has no plans of settling down and starting a family anytime soon.
"I'm not someone who feels like a pressure to get into that," says Conrad. "I think that I'm still pretty young and I've got a while to do all I want to do. I think that when you have kids, it's all about them. So I think that I need to be selfish for a little bit and do it all about me."

"I actually was just letting NBC know that I am ready to go back," The Hills star, 25, tells MTV News. "I'm ready. I got a whole new attitude about it." But Pratt and Montag, 23, will probably have to wait until next season to return to the Costa Rican jungle.
"We tried to go back but the cast said they would mutiny if we showed up!" he says.
"And the doctor told me I couldn't," adds Montag, who was briefly hospitalized during her stint on the show. "The minute we walked in [the show] I started crying – I never cry. I cry, like, once every three years ... and then I got really sick ... and that's when we were like, 'Maybe the jungle is not for Speidi.' "

Despite rumors that the singer plans to wed her boyfriend, agent Jason Trawick, the couple are not engaged, a source tells PEOPLE.
"There's no truth to it at all. Britney is not engaged," says the source.
Rumors of impending nuptials for Spears, who has been married twice before, began to surface Wednesday after Star magazine reported that the singer planned to "walk down the aisle again" with Trawick.
Spears, 27, and Trawick have been spending lots of time together lately – including taking a trip to the Bahamas with her two sons last month.
"They're very sweet together," a source told PEOPLE earlier this month. "He makes Britney really happy, and he's great with the boys."

Sean Penn is going on an indefinite hiatus from acting to spend time with his family, specifically his two teenage children, daughter Dylan, 18, and son Hopper, 15.
The time off comes as a surprise, especially to the producers of what was to be his next two films, the Mafia-thriller Cartel, and the hotly-anticipated Three Stooges, where Penn was to portray curly-haired dimwit Larry opposite Jim Carrey's Curly and Benicio Del Toro's Moe.
But Penn has greater priorities than taking one across the kisser. "Right now Sean wants to focus on being with his kids," a sourced close to Penn tell PEOPLE.Since winning the Oscar for Milk in February, it has been a tumultuous few months for Penn. In April, he filed for legal separation from his wife of 13 years, actress Robin Wright Penn. Less then a month later, he filed a request to dismiss the case, though sources stopped short of calling the move a reconciliation between the pair. It was the second time the couple had split and then called of their divorce. It is unclear what the time off will mean for the future of Penn's marriage – or for the two productions that he left up in the air. Sources have indicated that the Farrelly Brothers, who are helming the Stooges movie, would be willing to wait for Penn to start production.

| JADA PINKETT SMITH OFFERS RACY MARRIAGE ADVICE Blog |
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have been married for more than 11 years – a lifetime by Hollywood standards.
So what's the secret to their long-lasting romance? "Nice outfits and high heels!" Jada, 37, tells the new issue of Redbook.
But that's just part of it. Jada who stars in the new TNT series HawthoRNe, also lists "talking" and "making time" as important elements of a relationship.
As for what to do during that time alone, the actress offers some racy advice. "[Go for] a drive – and then pull over on the side of the road! Think of places outside that are comfortable to have sex. Does he have access to his office? Have a fantasy date. Be his secretary!"
After reading the interview, friends of the Smiths may think twice before inviting the couple over. "Be sneaky," she adds, before listing more places for quickies. "Your girlfriend's house at a party. The bathroom! A guest bedroom! Just switch it up. Anything like that can keep it going. Anything it takes to keep the flame alive." As for G-rated activities, she'll plan anything from a day hike to an evening stroll to ensure she and Will, 40, stay connected.
"It can be hard because we get caught in the grind of life," says the mother of three (Willow, 8, Jaden, 10, and Trey, 16, Will's son from a previous relationship). "Establish relationships with family members or friends and take turns with each other's kids so you can make that time for yourselves."

Marissa Jaret Winokur, host of the new weight loss dance show Dance Your Ass Off, gained baby weight while awaiting the birth of her son Zev – and she wasn't even pregnant.
A survivor of cervical cancer, Winokur, 36, had her now-11-month-old son with husband Judah Miller through a surrogate and says she put on 25 pounds during and after the pregnancy. "[It was] total stress," says the actress, who won a Tony in 2003 for the musical Hairspray. "You don't actually have to carry the baby to gain weight." Before her son's birth, Winokur got intense exercise while competing on Dancing with the Stars last spring. "During Dancing, I was working out all the time." But the strain of motherhood soon took its toll. "When I wasn't working, if I had an hour [and] my husband wasn't home from work yet, I'd be like, 'Oh, I'm gonna run on the treadmill.' [But sometimes] you have an hour and the last thing you wanna do is get on a treadmill."
Winokur is back on her fitness routine, thanks to classes at Studio City's Cardio Barre. Ironically, though she considers her new show a combination between The Biggest Loser and Dancing (it premieres on Oxygen June 29th), it wasn't much help to her. "I hosted the whole season and didn't lose a pound. I'm like, 'Oh my God, this is insane,' " she says.

She may have been the last one seen wearing them, but did Lindsay Lohan steal $400,000 worth of Dior jewels from her Elle photoshoot?
Under investigation by Scotland Yard, the disappearance of a set of diamond earrings and a necklace was reported on June 8. The baubles were on loan for a June 6 magazine shoot.
"We inquired and everyone from the shoot is being questioned," Lohan's rep tells PEOPLE. "Hair, make up, stylist ... even photographers. Lindsay hopes they find the jewels. She is happy to cooperate."A police spokeswoman tells PEOPLE, "Westminster Police are investigating an allegation of theft of jewelry from studios in Brewery Road in Islington. The theft was reported to a central London police station on the eighth of June after earrings and a necklace, believed to be diamond and estimated to be worth $400,000, were found to be missing approximately two days earlier."
She adds: "Inquiries are continuing and no arrests have been made. As far as who we will be interviewing – we will be speaking to a number of people in connection with the inquiry and don’t discuss the identity of the people we are planning to interview."
Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for Elle U.K. released a statement exonerating the 22-year-old star. "I can confirm on behalf of Elle magazine, that items of jewelry went missing from an Elle photoshoot ... and the matter is now being investigated by the police," she states. "Elle has no reason to believe that Lindsay Lohan was in any way responsible and has no further comment to make."

If anything can be read into a winking emoticon, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson may be a couple again – at least in Lohan's view.
"Leaving London but with my favorite favorite!!!" Lohan, 22, wrote on her Twitter page Monday as she and Ronson were photographed at a London airport terminal together awaiting a flight to Los Angeles.
Further fueling speculation, Lohan adds: "Great news to share!! Maybe .... ;)" Lohann, 22, and Ronson, 31, both have been in the UK in recent days but never were seen spending time together – each stayed in separate hotels – though there was a near-miss last week when Lohan showed up at London's Bungalow 8 club where Ronson was spinning – only to have Ronson make a dash for the door, according to The Dail MailStill, a source tells PEOPLE that for weeks now Lohan has told pals she's patched things up with Ronson.
"They haven't started fighting yet, but they are back together as far as Lindsay is concerned," says the source. "Lindsay has been doing so much better and has been giving Sam her space. She is really dedicated to making it work."

"He was extremely gracious," a source says. • Foregoing the traditional Memorial Day barbeque for a different sort of comfort food, Miley Cyrus ordered fried macaroni and cheese at The Cheesecake Factory at the Sherman Oaks Galleria in Sherman Oaks, Calif. There with beau Justin Gaston, the teen star acted ultra low-key during her 5 p.m. meal – but took to Twitter to rave about her early dinner. "Fried mac and cheese balls are the bestest thing ever invented," she tweeted. • Jamie Kennedy, celebrating his 39th birthday at LAVO in Las Vegas with girlfriend Jennifer Love Hewitt. • Tori Spelling, tucking into filet mignon and
mashed potatoes after the sunset nuptials of two of her best guy pals in
Indian Wells, Calif. It was a weekend of family fun in the desert for
Spelling and hubby Dean McDermott, who hosted wedding festivities for
friends Bill Horn and Scout Masterson. After the dinner, Spelling danced
late into the night with a crowd that included the newly married couple and
her 2-year-old son Liam – who tore up the dancefloor for hours and
even showed off some solo moves. Meanwhile, McDermott spent quality time
with his 10-year-old son Jack while daughter Stella, 11 months, dozed nearby
in a nanny's arms.
• Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry treated
14-month-old daughter Nahla to a fun day at the Topanga Days
Memorial Day Fair in L.A.'s Topanga Canyon. Nahla had lots of energy, clapping her
hands as she sat atop her dad's shoulders. During their visit, the family
watched a dancer with a hula hoop and enjoyed fresh lemonade.
• Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt dropped
by designer Christian Audigier's 51st birthday party in Cannes, France. The duo, who
were "couple-y," according to a source, rocked out to Lenny
Kravitz's performance at the Palm Beach Casino's VIP Room. But the heiress
also provided some musical entertainment at the bash: She sang "Happy
Birthday" to her designer pal and danced around a cake in the shape of an
American flag.
• Lindsay Lohan, throwing up her hands and dancing
with abandon to Lady Gaga's hit "Poker Face" during her night out
at MyHouse in L.A. The starlet otherwise spent her time socializing, and she
greeted pal Brody Jenner with a hug. He joined Lohan at
her table, and the two spent the evening talking closely and whispering.
• Back from Cannes, Ryan Phillippe and girlfriend Abbie Cornish enjoyed a casual lunch on the patio at Hugo's in West
Hollywood. Both were health-conscious, eating a green salad (for her) and
tuna tacos (for him). The two also sipped the green juice blend (a mix of
fruit and liquid chlorophyll) with lemon and talked quietly throughout the meal.

Sunday night's 4.7 earthquake may have rattled Los Angeles, but its reverberations are being felt online as stars – everyone from Miley to Lindsay – have taken to their Twitter or MySpace pages to report and react. Some weren't even in town for the quake, but took time to check on their friends and fans or just offer their support. Trying to prove that she's not just a party girl or a tabloid queen, Lindsay Lohan has promised to be on her best behavior on the set of her new film The Other Side, according to the movie's producer.
"She said, 'I'm going to turn down a lot of other work right now. I really want to get serious.' She said, 'I'm committed. I'm not going to be late. I'm really, really excited about doing this and working with these other actors,' " producer Kent Harper tells PEOPLE. "So we're excited."
The independent fantasy comedy is expected to start shooting in October on an island off the coast of Massachusetts. It will costar Jason Lee, Woody Harrelson, Giovanni Ribisi, Alanis Morissette and Dave Matthews. Harper also stars in the film. "I believe where she's at now with her commitment to the art that she's going to be phenomenal and I'm not worried whatsoever," Harper says. "Now if anything happens, you just handle it as it goes."
But with Lohan's history of rehab and run-ins with the law, will they be able to insure the actress for the project? Harper says he isn't losing sleep over it.
"I don't want to get too much into that, but I'm not worried about that at all either," he says. "I've had bigger fish to fry. I'm not even concerned. You deal with that when it gets closer to shooting anyway. It'll be something that will be dealt with. I'm positive it'll all work out."

• Selena Gomez and Taylor Lautner are still hanging out – and dining out. The duo recently headed to the Keg Steakhouse & Bar in Vancouver, where they were "very sweet [and] sat very close to each other," a witness says. The two giggled over appetizers before leaving through the back door, holding hands. • Just returned from Paris, Lindsay Lohan was in good spirits during her night out at Bardot Hollywood. The starlet sat in a center booth on the patio, drinking and chilling with her group. "At one point she then asked that they be moved closer to the deejay booth," says an onlooker. Also there: a super-sweet and smiling Kelly Osbourne, who was guest deejaying. Escorted by fiancé Luke Worrall, she kept the crowd energized while her beau never left her side. • The Office's Steve Carell, grabbing a solo lunch at the Cat & Fiddle pub in Hollywood. The funny guy grabbed a table in the courtyard, ordered a sandwich and soda and read the newspaper he brought with him.
• Guy Ritchie, doing pull-ups at Equinox in West Hollywood.
