Despite reports of ugliness between Lindsay Lohan and America Ferrera on the set of Ugly Betty, Dina Lohan tells PEOPLE that her daughter "had fun" working on the show.
"It was just silly," Dina Lohan said of the reports about her daughter battling on-set and off with Ferrara. "America's a doll. And they said [Lindsay] brought a posse. It was my mother and myself, and [sister] Ali. It was not a posse. We had sushi and no one trashed the room."
Dina adds that Lindsay doesn't know why her six-episode guest stint on the ABC show was cut to four, but says the actress enjoyed her time there. "She had fun on Ugly Betty," says Dina, who spoke with PEOPLE Monday at Animal Fair magazine's Halloween Pet Costume Party in New York City. "It was long hours and when you're on a movie set it's a lot different. She's not used to television, but it was fun."As for Lindsay's relationship with Samantha Ronson, it's going even better. "We've known the family for years, so it's great," says Dina. "Sam is so tough and smart. "She's a sweetheart."
Adds sister Ali, "We just want Lindsay to be happy. Whatever she is happy doing, we're happy with."

Windy City tour stop, and were equally sweet with the hotel staff. Another
sweet spot, according to a source: The guys also loved the mini-bars in
their rooms and snacked on candy during their stay.
• Lindsay Lohan, heading backstage to meet Foreigner with girlfriend Samantha Ronson before the band's show
at the House of Blues Sunset in Hollywood. After their meet-and-greet, the
couple watched the show, totally transfixed, from an upstairs VIP perch,
where the pair sipped sodas and quietly sang along with the band.
• Also in a musical mood: American Idol champ
David Cook, laughing it up with friends before Timbaland's show at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. The singer (who
sported a porkpie hat) arrived at the show early and made a beeline for the
bar, according to an onlooker.
• Daniel Craig, checking out the Oasis gig at
London's Roundhouse Theatre. While the James Bond star may have
wanted to go incognito at the show – which was part of the BBC Electric
Proms – his cover was blown by Noel Gallagher, who singled
him out from the stage. According to a
source, Craig "looked very uncomfortable" – shaken and stirred – by the shout-out. Also on the VIP balcony: Russell Brand, who was
also called out by Gallagher.
• Gerard Butler, making the women swoon with his sexy
karaoke rendition of the Doors' "Light My Fire" during an afterparty for the
Savannah College of Art and Design's 11th Annual Savannah Film Festival.
"He's a great singer," says a partygoer. "The women there couldn't get
enough of him." And the RocknRolla star loves the ladies back.
During his time at the festival, Butler met a Savannah resident and gave her
his phone number!
• A black-clad Gwyneth Paltrow, sipping French
martinis with a male pal at New York's Rose Club at the Plaza after
midnight.
• Michelle Williams, reading a book of poetry on
the subway in New York. The actress carried two shopping bags and read
during the whole ride before jumping off in her Brooklyn neighborhood.

Amid rumors of an unpretty rivalry on Ugly Betty between guest star Lindsay Lohan and star America Ferrera, Lohan's agreed-upon six episodes have been cut to four, Page Six reports.
Reps from both sides, however, insist that everything is fine.
"Lindsay was scheduled for six episodes and is appearing in four but had a lovely time," a Lohan spokesperson said.
"America is grateful to have had her on the show and thinks everyone should tune in to see how great the episodes are," Ferrera rep Carrie Byalick said.
Producers of the ABC series tell PEOPLE, "Lindsay wrapped up her arc and is done filming. She did a great job and we enjoyed having her. Viewers can look forward to her episodes tonight and next week."But on-set sources painted a much different picture for Page Six, citing spats, an out-of-control entourage, and one embarrassing moment.
According to a production source, Lohan and her people were so destructive that her dressing room had to be repainted. Lohan also refused to go on set before Ferrera did, according to the source.
Trouble erupted after one particular scene in which Ferrera's character pulls down Lohan's pants. A Lohan friend told Page Six Ferrera wasn't supposed to pull down Lohan's pants because it was a rehearsal. When she did, Lohan, who was only wearing a g-string, was embarrassed to the point of tears.
Lohan's friend also said that the dressing room might have been wrecked by the cast of another show, and that the so-called entourage consisted of nothing more than Lohan's manager, assistant, a sober companion and girlfriend Samantha
Ronson.
"America was mean to Lindsay. Producers give her too much power," Lohan's pal says. "Lindsay didn't do the last two episodes because America didn't like her and got her kicked off."
If true, the debacle provides a handy retort for the cast of Gossip Girls, which Ferrera recently slammed for conditioning people "to be mean."

An ugly fight has broken out on the Ugly Betty set.
On Thursday, reports surfaced that Lindsay Lohan was such a diva while filming her guest spot, America Ferrera lobbied to have her originally-scheduled six-episode-appearance cut to four.
But a source tells Usmagazine.com that it wasn't Lohan who was acting up.
"America couldn't handle Lindsay stealing her thunder," the source tells Us.

The New York Post quotes a production source who calls Lohan's appearance "a mess.
"Lindsay would show up every day with an entourage of people. She smoked 24/7, and after she left, they had to re-paint her dressing room it was such a mess," the source says.
One of Lohan's pals counters her dressing room was used by the cast of Fox's thriller, Fringe.
"So maybe they messed it up," the source says. "And an entourage? Yeah, she had her sober companion with her, as well as her manager, assistant and Samantha Ronson. Her publicist was there a couple of times. But so what?"

The New York Post also claims the 22-year-old would "obsessively cut pictures of herself out of the tabloids like she was creating some sort of scrapbook and refused to go on set until America was there - it was a power play."
Lohan accidentally flashed the cast too, the paper reports. For an episode entitled "Granny Pants," Lohan - who played Betty's high school enemy - was supposed to "de-pants" Ferrera. But the scene calls for Ferrera to turn the tables – and pull down Lohan's pants instead.
"Lindsay wasn't wearing any underwear," the Post's source claims.
Counters a Lohan Pal, "Bulls--t! Lindsay wears underwear all the time now. She was wearing a G-string. And it was America's fault.
"They were rehearsing the scene and America wasn't supposed to pull Lindsay's pants down - but she did," the source adds. "Lindsay was so embarrassed, she started crying."
Lohan's pal says it was Ferrera who made filming unbearable for Lohan.
"America was mean to Lindsay," the pal tells the Post. "Producers give her too much power. Lindsay didn't do the last two episodes because America didn't like her and got her kicked off."
Reps for both actresses are downplaying any drama.
"America is grateful to have had her on the show and thinks everyone should tune in to see how great the episodes are," Ferrera's rep told the Post.

| LINDSAY LOHAN SUED BY PASSENGERS IN DUI CHASE Blog |
Lindsay Lohan is being sued by three men in an SUV she drove during a car chase leading to her second DUI arrest last year.
The actress was "angry and aggressive" and the men "felt surprise, shock, fear and panic at Lohan's surprising and sudden act" of allegedly commandeering a car in which they happened to be sitting to chase her personal assistant through the streets of Santa Monica, according to the lawsuit.
The plaintiffs – Ronnie Blake, Jakon Sutter and Dante Nigro – are seeking unspecified damages in the case, filed in Superior Court in Santa Monica.
Although nobody was physically injured, their suit describes a wild, traumatic ride with Lohan allegedly angry and intoxicated as she went after the other car following a party.
"Dante and Jakon continued to implore Lohan to slow down, stating specifically that she was endangering all of their lives and that they could be killed," the lawsuit says. "Lohan refused to slow or stop, but instead responded with abusive cursing and vulgar language, including a statement that she did not care about the risk of death."The lawsuit adds: "She also stated that because she was a celebrity she could do whatever she wants."
Lohan's attorney, Ed McPherson, tells TMZ.com the lawsuit is "absurd."
"These guys had the night of their lives, playing with the radio and leaving the vehicle at one point and getting back in," he says.
Following her arrest, Lohan, 22, reached a plea deal in the case and spent 84 minutes in jail for DUI.
She also was sued by the passenger in the car she allegedly chased.

| FASHION CRITIC MR. BLACKWELL DIES AT 86 Blog |
Fashion legend Mr. Blackwell, who wrote an annual worst-dressed list attacking everyone from Jessica Simpson to Victoria Beckham, has died.
He passed away Sunday of complications from an intestinal infection, his publicist said in a statement.
He was 86.
In August, Blackwell, whose first name was Richard, was first hospitalized and had been unconscious for days, his business partner said, declining to explain the nature of Blackwell's illness.
For four decades, Blackwell has issued his worst-dressed list.
Of Christina Aguilera, he once said: "A dazzling singer who puts good taste through the wardrobe wringer."
He amusingly once described Lindsay Lohan as going "from adorable to deplorable."
Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham topped his most recent list.
"Forget the fashion spice - wearing a skirt would suffice!" he wrote. "In one skinny-mini monstrosity after another, pouty posh can really wreck-em."
He purposely left Britney Spears off his 2007 list because her "personal life is in such upheaval. I hope 2008 is a better year for her."

Lindsay Lohan – camera shy?
The actress filed a motion on Wednesday, asking the judge to ban any filming of her upcoming deposition.
Her lawyers also asked that no transcript or description of the deposition be entered into the public record.
Lohan, 22, is preparing to give testimony in a case filed by girlfriend Samantha Ronson. (The DJ is suing her former lawyers, claiming they failed to adequately represent her in a previous lawsuit.)The documents claim that a videotaped deposition would "unduly embarrass, oppress and burden" Lohan. They also claim it's a "virtual certainty" that a video or transcript "will be illegally exploited by the media."
A judge is scheduled to consider Lohan's motion in November.

On Wednesday, the actress' lawyers filed a motion seeking a judge's order

accounts of the deposition, the Associated Press reports.
Ronson is suing her former lawyers, claiming they failed to adequately
represent her in a previous lawsuit.
Videotaping her deposition, Lohan's lawyers argue, will "unduly embarrass,
oppress and burden her because of the private subject matter of the expected
testimony and the virtual certainty that, unless access is significantly
limited, the transcript and videotape of the deposition will be illegally
exploited by the media."
A judge will consider Lohan's motion in November.

• Serena Williams isn't above a good bargain. The tennis

female friend and a teenage girl. "Serena wanted to take a look at an

who was standing in line," says a fellow shopper. Apparently, a kiosk of

• MTV's bisexual bachelorette Tila Tequila took her party to
West Hollywood's Coco de Ville, grabbing a booth right in front of the
deejay, which she shared with Danity Kane singer D. Woods. Tila was in the mood to dance, though, and barely sat down all
night, getting busy to tunes like ZZ Top's "Sharp Dressed Man."
• Just hours after Misty May-Treanor announced that an
injury was forcing her to leave Dancing with the Stars, much of the DWTS crew hit L.A. club Coco de Ville to celebrate ex-contestant Jeff Ross' DVD Jeff Ross No Offense: Live from New Jersey. While Cheryl Burke helped Ross blow out the candles on a sheet cake
at the Dewars White Label-hosted bash, pals Dane Cook, Lance Bass and former dancer partner Edyta Sliwinska gathered around to

"Last night i went to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist and it was so cute!" the Mean Girls star wrote on her MySpace blog Wednesday "I think the entire cast is so much fun to watch, and the storyline is great."
The budding Ebert had special praise for the films stars. "I'm a big fan of Kat Dennings and Michael Cera," she writes. "It would be nice to give them some support!" Lohan credits movies like Nick and Norah's for helping to lift her out of bad moods.
"Seeing movies like this is such a good feeling," she writes. "It also shows you how important movies are in life – you can be in a horrible mood, and most of the time a movie that makes you laugh and enjoy life can change your mood by the time you walk out of the theatre."

How does Samantha Ronson maintain the trim figure she showed off during her recent romantic Mexican getaway with Lindsay Lohan? It's all in the genes.
Ronson, 30, who's rarely seen wearing anything other than jeans, sneakers,
and her porkpie hat, told PEOPLE that she was "never more unhappy" about
being snapped in her bathing suit during her trip to Los Cabos, Mexico. But the deejay is laughing off the incident – and the Internet buzz it generated.
"That's very funny," Ronson said after hearing that fans were impressed by her
svelte figure.
When asked about the secrets to her slim physique, Ronson, 30, told PEOPLE that
less – a lot less – is more: "No gym – well, not in the last five years. All the credit goes to Mom and Dad and their genes!"Not that she doesn't indulge in the occasional cardio activity: "Sprinting through airports to catch flights," Ronson added about her workout "regiment."
The deejay even jokes about one of her only vices: Marlboro Reds. "I get winded just reaching for my cigarettes!" she said.
Emotionally, she's in even better shape, thanks to her relationship with Lohan. A friend close to the actress says Ronson is "the best and happiest thing to ever happen to Lindsay."

The couple were on the KROQ-L.A.-based program to talk about the plane crash on Friday night that Travis Barker and DJ AM survived.
Lohan recounted how she learned about the accident.
"Samantha and I woke up" to emails, she said. "We were both really scared.
"AM has been a great friend to me and he's such a good guy and Travis a great guy as well and an amazing father," she added. "It was all really scary."
The crash, which occurred in South Carolina, claimed the lives of four people, including Lil Chris Baker and Charles "Che" Still.
"Lil Chris, god bless his soul, I knew him well too," Lohan said.

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have both posted message of support to their friends DJ Am and Travis Barker, who were critically injured in a plane crash that also claimed the lives of four others.
Writing on her MySpace celebrity blog, Lohan terms what happened "horrible news," and goes on to say, "please send your prayers out to adam goldstien and travis barker – along with the others lost in the plane crash ...
"it's so scary to think that life can end so fast ... we must all treasure each and every moment – and be thankful for what we have." In Ronson's message, she writes: "my good friend adam (dj am) was in a plane crash last night, he was lucky to survive but is still in the hospital being treated for burns (so i read). i don't really know what to say, it's such horrifying news, but i was hoping you guys would please send him your best wishes/prayers because I don't really know what else to do. also for travis barker, who was on the plane. four other people were on the plane and did not survive, i can't even imagine the pain their families must be in. soooooo sad and i'm so sorry."

the Hotel Monaco in Seattle. In town to perform at the Puyallup Fair &
Events Center, "she walked into the lobby," an observer tells us, "and was
making a beeline for the elevator, but then she stopped at the concierge desk
when she saw a dog walking through." Fergie then ran
over to pet the pooch. "It was cute," the observer says. "She was actually
'oohing' and 'ahhing.'"
• Jessica Simpson, making a brief (and accidental)
foray into political territory – literally. The singer and her
entourage (including, of course, maltipoo Daisy) crossed paths with John McCain and his own entourage at the Tampa International Airport, in an
area reserved for private planes and charter flights. Simpson
and the Republican presidential candidate never interacted, but the newly
minted country star was being followed by a video camera.
• After spending Fashion Week in New York, Hilary Swank returned to Los Angeles to focus on her own image. The Oscar winner
swung by Neil George Salon to dye her hair back from blonde to her natural
brown. "She couldn't wait to get back to brunette," a source tells us.
(Swank, of course, colored and cropped her hair for her role as Amelia
Earhart in the biopic Amelia.) In total, the process took about four
hours, and when Swank was finished she snuck out the front door, all bundled
up.

Call it a lesson learned for singer-songwriter Ne-Yo.
"I really gotta stop judging books by their cover," the R&B star, who recently logged studio time with Michael Bolton, tells PEOPLE. "I was expecting him to be really up tight. But he wasn't! He was so relaxed, cool and down to earth."
Ne-Yo, whose album Year of the Gentleman hits stores Tuesday, is getting his character flaw in check – he even issued an apology to pop star Lindsay Lohan in August for doubting her musical abilities.While Ne-Yo and Bolton spent several hours at a Los Angeles studio, the duo recorded "Call My Name." The song is "about a mistake that a woman has made in choosing between two guys, and he's letting her know 'I'm here regardless; call my name and I'm there,' " Ne-Yo says.
"We sat and talked about all kinds of stuff – how he's newly single, marriage, the road – he was honestly one of the cooler sessions I've been in this year."
Could the song's lyrics have any personal meaning for Bolton, who ended his engagement to Nicollette Sheridan in August?
"Kinda sort of," says Ne-Yo. "But we both agreed that we had been in that boat before."
Many CollaboratorsThese days Bolton is just one of many artists on Ne-Yo's list of collaborators. The in-demand star is still submitting songs for Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson's upcoming albums, too.
"[Michael] will tell me which ones he likes and which ones he doesn't like," says Ne-Yo. "He said, 'Just makes sure it's melodic and something relatable.' He likes a lot of today's music but equally doesn't like a lot of it."
"[Michael] says that if we were to take what Chris [Brown] does with his body and what I do with my voice, then that would be the ultimate Michael Jackson," Ne-Yo says.
Next up for the singer-songwriter? A collaboration with Marilyn Manson.
"I have no idea what it's gonna sound like and I have no idea what I can do for him, but I'm damn excited to figure it out and I know I have the capacity to do it."

Mark Ronson, the DJ music producer and brother of Lindsay Lohan's gal pal Samantha Ronson, has split from his girlfriend, model Daisy Lowe, PEOPLE has confirmed.
Reps for Lowe and Ronson declined to give a reason why the pair ended their relationship after about six months.
Lowe, 19, has returned to London for a week of fashion shows. She was seen with Ronson last week at a bash to celebrate his 33rd birthday at a country home in Buckinghamshire, in the English countryside. But they parted in New York where she was working at the city's fashion week, and where Ronson has a home. Ronson, who has produced hits for Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen, was seen out in London on Sunday night at a party to mark Winehouse's 25th birthday.
Lowe discovered four years ago her biological father was rock star (and now husband to Gwen Stefani), Gavin Rossdale, not the man named on her birth certificate. Rossdale had had a brief relationship with her mother, Pearl, in 1988.

Lindsay Lohan has had enough of Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
"I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin," the actress wrote on her MySpace blog Sunday.
"I couldn't be more supportive of a woman in office, but let's face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female," Lohan, 22, said. "I feel it's necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or woman.
"I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the 'lipstick on a pig' comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president," she added.

Lohan believes Palin isn't ready for the job.
"I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor, which is probably all she is qualified to be," she said.
"Oh, and... Hint Hint Pali Pal - Don't pose for anymore tabloid covers, you're not a celebrity, you're running for office to represent our, your, my COUNTRY!" Lohan added.

Lohan said she feels fear, concern, disappointment and stress over Palin. The actress also referenced Palin's views on homosexuality.
"Is it a sin to be gay?" Lohan asked. "Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
"Is our country so divided that the Republicans best hope is a narrow minded, media obsessed homophobe?" she added.
In conclusion, Lohan cited an Associated Press story reporting that Palin's church advocates a conference about prayer curing homosexuality. Wrote Lohan: "Palin's Desire to "save and convert the gays" - really??"
Lohan's girlfriend Samantha Ronson also chimed in.
"Vote for obama!" Ronson wrote. "Mainly because if she gets elected my green card probably won't get renewed!!!"

Don't ring the wedding bells just yet. Lindsay Lohan may be wearing a certain piece of jewelry on her ring finger but the actress isn't engaged, her rep tells PEOPLE.
Lohan, who still remains coy about her relationship with Samantha Ronson, debuted a heart-shaped ring on her left hand Wednesday at the Stand Up for a Cure 2008 concert in New York.
But, says her rep, "She bought it herself. It's an antique ring that she found at an antique store in NYC." The Labor Pains actress recently revealed that she and Ronson have matching tattoos, and also praised her for being "a great person. And she's a great influence on people around her."

Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson are paying tribute to those who perished in the 9/11 NYC attacks seven years ago today.
“I am in New York and I would like to remind everybody to take a moment today for those lost in tragedy that occurred on 9/11/01," Lohan blogs.
Ronson adds that "waking up in NYC this morning, seven years later ... feels like just yesterday this city and our worlds were turned upside down."
Ronson recalls what it was like witnessing the attacks.
"Never in my lifetime had I ever believed that I would see such horror - the kind that you see in documentaries set in far off places and read about in text books," she writes.
"Never in my life had I ever thought that I would wake up and fall asleep afraid, watching things on television that felt like a film, walking through a city that felt like a war zone," she goes on.
Adds Ronson, "There were army vehicles on Houston Street, barricades dividing neighborhoods and lines around the block of people waiting to donate blood -- set in front of a backdrop of smoke, filling a space where two of the largest buildings once stood.
"Two buildings that shaped one of the most famous skylines in this country, or in the world... seven years later, and I will never forget," she writes.
"I don’t really know what to say," she says. "To all those we lost, we will never forget, and never take for granted, the sacrifices that you made."
