Açıklama: For a few quick seconds, three world famous celebrities share the stage on Dame Elizabeth Taylor's 65th Birthday Celebration AIDS Fundraiser in February 1997. As Madonna recites a splendid speech on Elizabeth's endless humanitarian work with AIDS, she helps her on stage....where Michael Jackson gives her a hug. All of this is followed by a two minute standing ovation. Elizabeth, herself, states that this celebration is in honor of those with AIDS...as millions of dollars were raised for "The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation". Elizabeth proudly notes that her foundation is helping those affected with HIV/AIDS all over the world, which validates her own vision of this life saving foundation at its conception in 1991. Ever the trooper, on stage...as Elizabeth Taylor was thanking her millions of admirers, she possessed the knowledge that she would soon be undergoing surgery to remove a temporal brain tumor. She purposely postponed the surgery so this awesome fundraiser could take place. This is part of her compassion. Part of her golden heart, and part of the love that she shares with humanity, and it also addresses the question of why we 'do' love her so much. We love her because she represents what is good in this world, and how fame can be utilized to help millions of people with a variety of life threatening issues. As Madonna so eloquently said, " Elizabeth allows all of us to shine with empathy" God Bless her (which He has).Changing the focus, Elizabeth also presents Michael Jackson with the '1989 Heritage/ Sammy Davis Jr. Award" for his genius contribution to the world of pop music. Again, she appeared on stage after, again, almost dying of Staphylococcal Pneumonia requiring weeks of being hospitalized. To show up for her friend, she put herself aside. This is part of her magic.
